Latest coaching update will only deepen the gap between Matt LaFleur’s vision for the Packers and what critics keep demanding
Adam Stenavich is closer to staying in Green Bay.
Matt LaFleur doesn’t seem to be too inclined to move on from offensive coordinator Adam Stenavich. After all, the Green Bay Packers have had strong performances year after year on offense since Steno replaced Nathaniel Hackett in 2022.
However, many fans on social media and LaFleur’s critics in general wanted change — and maybe a new offensive coordinator with a different background and perspective working under LaFleur, even if the head coach would still call the plays. But LaFleur seems happy to keep the offensive structure.
Titans’ OC process
The biggest chance for the Packers to actually move on from Stenavich is if he receives a play-calling OC opportunity elsewhere. He interviewed for the Tennessee Titans’ job under new head coach Robert Saleh, but ultimately that chance won’t materialize.
The Titans are hiring former New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll to be their new offensive coordinator and work with young quarterback Cam Ward — unless Daboll gets the Las Vegas Raiders’ HC, in which case he would reconsider his situation.
That means, whether fans like it or not, Adam Stenavich is closer to returning to the Packers in 2026.
The market is still intense
Even though Stenavich didn’t get the Titans’ position, there will still be teams in the Market for assistant coaches. For example, the Philadelphia Eagles are interviewing Packers quarterbacks coach Sean Mannion for their open OC position — and it’s also a play-calling opportunity.
So far, though, the Titans were the only team to show interest in Stenavich — and the Packers allowed him to interview.
A 42-year-old coach, Adam Stenavich has been with the Green Bay Packers since 2019 — Matt LaFleur’s first season with the team. Initially hired as an offensive line coach, he was later promoted to run game coordinator in 2021 and to offensive coordinator in 2022.
