The Alabama Crimson Tide has had a transfer portal to remember. Sure, the Tide lost some players like Isaiah Horton to the portal and received a decommitment from Hollywood Smothers, but the defensive and offensive lines were rebuilt from the ground up.

There is one familiar face alongside Yhonzae Pierre in the EDGE group that is back, however, and it’s for a 7th straight time.

Alabama Crimson Tide returning EDGE Jah-Marien Latham

Latham first joined the Crimson Tide in 2020, but between injuries and staff changes, he has yet to earn a true starting role. After injuries to Qua Russaw and others, the hope was that Latham would make his way into the starting lineup, but then a scary practice injury happened.

Latham suffered an injury that caused him to be rushed to the UAB Medical Center in Birmingham. With his return, as long as he’s healthy, he immediately gives Alabama depth at the wolf and Bandit positions on their defense.

Alongside Caleb Smith from Washington, Devan Thompkins from USC, and plenty of others, a group that lost all of its interior defensive linemen and EDGE players like James Smith and Keon Keeley, the return of Pierre and now Latham is a big boost for the Crimson Tide.
