Robert Saleh’s secret workout supplement ‘PHW’ is exactly what the Titans need for a turnaround under their new head coach
Robert Saleh was officially introduced as the new head coach of the Tennessee Titans on Thursday.
Robert Saleh, who spent the 2025 season as the San Francisco 49ers’ defensive coordinator, was officially introduced as the new head coach of the Tennessee Titans on Thursday.
Saleh will be tasked with turning around a franchise that’s gone 6-28 over the last two seasons and finished last in the AFC South three years in a row.
The former New York Jets head coach has his work cut out for him in Nashville, but he has a secret “supplement” that will help get the job done.
Robert Saleh’s “PHW” supplement will help the Titans reach their goals
Saleh joined “Good Morning Football” on Friday to discuss his new gig.
At one point during the interview, NFL Network host Kyle Brandt, who wasn’t in studio on Friday, delivered a message to Saleh via a pre-recorded video.
Brandt, while lifting weights, said in the video that he’s still taking the “PHW” supplement that Saleh told him about several years ago.
If you’re wondering what “PHW” is, you’re not alone.
Saleh told the hilarious backstory of the inside joke.
“If people don’t know the history, he was texting me, I guess there were some photos (of Saleh) out there one time,” said Saleh. “He was like, ‘Dude, what are you doing? What supplements are you taking?’ I was like, ‘I take PHW’. And he spent, I guess, the next 24 hours looking for the supplement. He was like, ‘I can’t find this anywhere’. I said ‘It’s pure hard work.’”
All jokes aside, “pure hard work” is certainly the most important ingredient to making progress on the field.

Robert Saleh is excited to coach Jeffery Simmons
While the last few seasons haven’t gone well for the Titans, it’s not like the cupboard is completely bare in Nashville.
Saleh will be inheriting one of the best defensive players in the league in defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons.
And the new Titans head coach is excited to get to work with Simmons.
“He’s not bad, man,” joked Saleh when asked about Simmons. “When we (the 49ers) game planned, we have a ‘what it takes tape’ every week. It’s just kind of all three phases, what we need to do to win the game. And Jeffery was the big focal point on that tape for our offense.
“He’s a good looking human being. He plays his butt off. And just going through this process and learning the work ethic he has. And one thing I want to do, I want to highlight things that people don’t know about him. He’s a guy that’s going to walk up to the QCs (quality control coaches) and the chef and — I don’t want to say low level, but just the entry level positions that are just kind of coming up — to encourage them and thank them for their work. Just an elite human in that regard, and thoughtful and understanding of all the different things that people are doing around the building. [I’m] just really looking forward to continuing to get to know him and to work with him.”
Simmons, a first round pick by the Titans in the 2019 NFL Draft, was named to his fourth Pro Bowl in 2025.
