In a silly but unfortunately expected move, former Los Angeles Rams superstar wide receiver Torry Holt was once again snubbed from the Hall of Fame. This was Holt’s seventh straight year as a finalist, but no dice for the 2026 Hall of Fame class. Holt will have to once again wait and try next season.

Torry Holt snubbed from Hall of Fame induction, again

Holt has waited a long time to hear his name called to Canton. This was Holt’s 12th(!) year of eligibility, and he has been voted at least a semifinalist all 12 years. It has to be taking a toll on a man and player so deserving of joining the NFL’s most prestigious club.

In his 11-year career, Holt caught 920 passes for 13,382 yards and 74 touchdowns. Over the course of his career, Holt made seven Pro Bowls, two All-Pro teams, and won a Super Bowl. He was first in receptions and receiving yards from 2000 to 2009, ripped off eight straight 1,000-yard seasons and six straight 1,300-yard+ seasons, and was named to the NFL 2000s All-Decade Team.

Despite all the accolades and success, Holt hasn’t had any luck with getting into the Hall of Fame despite playing alongside players already inducted into the Hall of Fame like Isaac Bruce, Marshall Faulk, Orlando Pace, and Kurt Warner. Holt remains the only Hall of Fame-eligible player from the Greatest Show on Turf to not be inducted despite his accolades and production. Holt is also the only pass catcher of the NFL’s 2000’s All-Decade team to not make the Hall of Fame.

It’s ridiculous that he hasn’t gotten in, and there’s no rationale left to justify his snub. Unfortunately, another stacked group of first-ballot players entering next year to compete with players who didn’t make it this year just keep making Holt’s hopes to get into the Hall of Fame look dimmer and dimmer.
