The Tennessee Vols are the team with the momentum for a 2027 four-star safety from Georgia.

On3’s Chad Simmons reported this week that Tennessee is out in front for 2027 four-star safety Ta’Shawn Poole.

“Since late 2025, the Vols have steadily built momentum, and heading into the spring, they have separated themselves from the pack,” wrote Simmons.

Poole, 6-foot-2/185 pounds from Macon, GA, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 6 safety in the nation and the No. 8 player in the state of Georgia. He’s also rated as the No. 71 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class.

Simmons noted that Alabama, Clemson, and Georgia are also in the mix for Poole, but it’s the Vols that are out in front.

Georgia, specifically, looms as the biggest threat to Tennessee in this recruiting battle.

Tennessee is one of the top schools for 2027 4-star offensive lineman Sean Tatum

Tennessee is also one of the top six teams in the mix for 2027 four-star offensive lineman Sean Tatum.

Tatum, 6-foot-4/317 pounds from Fort Pierce, FL, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 8 interior offensive lineman in the nation and the No. 18 player in the state of Florida.

“Coach (Glen) Elarbee, I like him a lot,” said Tatum to On3 of his interest in the Vols. “I’m familiar with their systems. Coach Elarbee has been there since my sophomore year. Tennessee has been amazing. I love them a lot. I love the coaches down there.”

Auburn, Florida, Miami, Georgia, and Nebraska are also among the top schools for the four-star offensive lineman.

Tatum, who is scheduled to take an official visit to Tennessee in June, is expected to commit to a school later this summer.
