3-Round 2026 NFL Mock Draft: Browns and Steelers go all-in on offense, Bills fix WR, and shocking talents fall
Fernando Mendoza and Ty Simpson are the lone QBs who go early, but several teams try to build around young passers
NFL Draft season is well underway. The NFL Combine is nearly here (February 23 to March 2), with pro day performances immediately following.
Our A to Z Sports NFL scouting staff has already been hard at work on the 2026 NFL Draft class for over a year now, but this group of prospects looks a lot different than many expected. Will there be any quarterbacks that join Fernando Mendoza in the first round? Will the edge rusher and wide receiver classes live up to their expecations? Which prospects will your favorite team select?
Our scouting staff came together for a collaborative mock draft this time, to see if we can predict the future of the 2026 NFL Draft. Eight writers. 96 picks. At least one or two things wrong. Let us know what we got right @AtoZSportsNFL on X (I am @FF_TravisM on X if you want to blame anyone in particular for make the wrong picks). Enjoy!
Key Facts, Stats, and Odds for the 2026 NFL Draft
- Three NFL teams currently hold multiple first-round selections in the 2026 NFL Draft: Cleveland Browns, Los Angeles Rams, New York Jets
- The Cleveland Browns, Houston Texans, Los Angeles Rams, Miami Dolphins, New York Jets, and Pittsburgh Steelers all have at least four picks in the first three rounds (not including compensatory selections)
- Indiana quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza has a 99% probability of being the first overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, according to sports books
- Over 190 different players have been selected inside the first three rounds of industry-wide NFL mock drafts since December
Round 1 of the 2026 NFL Draft
1. Las Vegas Raiders: Fernando Mendoza, QB, Indiana
There’s not much left to say that hasn’t been said about this pairing between Indiana QB Fernando Mendoza and the Las Vegas Raiders. The Raiders need to find their franchise QB, and Mendoza is the clear-cut top guy at the position in this year’s class. He is also a great fit for the recently hired head coach, Klint Kubiak’s, offensive system. – Destin Adams, A to Z Sports Indianapolis
2. New York Jets: Arvell Reese, LB, Ohio State
So many want to put a label on Arvell Reese, but my only label is that he’s a very good football player. There is All-Pro upside as a Mike linebacker with sub-rush upside. This is a versatile weapon on the second level of a defense. – Ryan Roberts, A to Z Sports Notre Dame
3. Arizona Cardinals: Francis Mauigoa, OT, Miami (FL)
The Cardinals have a great chance with this early pick to secure a perceived splash player up front on the offensive line. The rest of the unit, aside of Paris Johnson, desperately needs the extra kick in the pants, too. Francis Mauigoa is a force in the run game and plays right tackle naturally, which would give new head coach Mike LaFleur a pair of bookend tackles to build his run scheme and pass protection around. – Kyle Crabbs, A to Z Sports Miami
4. Tennessee Titans: David Bailey, EDGE, Texas Tech
David Bailey is a wildly fierce competitor according to every scout and teammate I’ve talked with throughout this NFL Draft season. His hyper-focus and complete game as an edge defender makes him the best pure pass rusher in the class. He posted three straight years with a 20% pass rush pressure rate or better, a feat no other edge rusher in the 2026 NFL Draft did even twice. He has great burst, twitch, strength, and a full bag of moves to get to the passer. The Titans finally get their All-Pro difference maker on the edge here. – Travis May, A to Z Sports College Football & NFL Draft Managing Editor
5. New York Giants: Spencer Fano, OT, Utah
I know that wide receiver has become a popular pick for the Giants in mock drafts, but this team needs to keep Jaxson Dart upright first, find more talent on the perimeter second. Spencer Fano has experience at both tackle spots, so you can slide him to the right side and have your tackle duo for years to come with Fano and Andrew Thomas. John Harbaugh has always been a part of teams that build inside-out, and I doubt that changes in New York. – Rob Gregson, A to Z Sports Pittsburgh
6. Cleveland Browns: Carnell Tate, WR, Ohio State
The Browns don’t have an answer at quarterback right now, but they won’t anytime soon regardless. In the meantime, they keep adding elite talents all throughout the roster, as the team needs blue-chip talent, especially on offense. Carnell Tate can be the WR1 the Browns offense has desperately needed for years. – AJ Schulte, A to Z Sports Oklahoma
7. Washington Commanders: Sonny Styles Jr., LB, Ohio State
With Daronte Jones coming in at defensive coordinator, the Commanders need to begin bringing in versatile players to run the Brian Flores style scheme. Sonny Styles is a former safety with a ton of height and athleticism Jones can tap into. Whether it be as a blitzing linebacker or dropping back into coverage, Styles can do it all. – Tyler Forness, A to Z Sports Minnesota
8. New Orleans Saints: Rueben Bain Jr., EDGE, Miami (FL)
I do like the idea of getting a weapon on offense but wanted a different scenario here. Chase Young was arguably the best player on the Saints defense last season. Adding Rueben Bain in to create an exciting, young duo off the edge makes a ton of sense to boost Brandon Staley’s defense. He is a fantastic run defender who plays with a relentless motor. His pass rush skillset will only continue to improve, too. – Adam Holt, A to Z Sports Philadelphia
9. Kansas City Chiefs: Jordyn Tyson, WR, Arizona State
Oh man, if Jordyn Tyson falls into the Chiefs’ lap, it could be dangerous for the rest of the league. Tyson is in the discussion to be the top WR in the class and could be just what the Chiefs’ passing game needs to return to the level of dominance we had grown accustomed to seeing from Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense. – Destin Adams, A to Z Sports Indianapolis
10. Cincinnati Bengals: Caleb Downs, S, Ohio State
The Cincinnati Bengals need so much help defensively, so there really is no wrong way to go in this draft. While Caleb Downs isn’t quite the generational player some act like he is, he has one of the highest floors of any player in this class. Downs has a rare ability for seemingly always being in the right spot. – Ryan Roberts, A to Z Sports Notre Dame
11. Miami Dolphins: Mansoor Delane, CB, LSU
You get the sense that the Dolphins are going to want to load up in the trenches here but the board didn’t really fall that well. Sonny Styles and Caleb Downs would have been under consideration, too. But the top tackle is off the board, the pass rush options went early, and so did the true BPAs. Mansoor Delane is a clean prospect with great instincts; his addition helps a secondary room that desperately needs all the help it can get entering Jeff Hafley’s first season. – Kyle Crabbs, A to Z Sports Miami
12. Dallas Cowboys: Jeremiyah Love, RB, Notre Dame
The Cowboys got the most out of Javonte Williams last year, but they could use a complete game-changing talent at running back. Jeremiyah Love is the RB1 in the 2026 NFL Draft by far, and the only first round player at the position. He posted over 3000 yards and 40 total touchdowns in the last two years alone. Love can take any touch to the house for a touchdown whenever he wants thanks to his elite speed. Dallas improves their offense here, greatly. – Travis May, A to Z Sports College Football & NFL Draft Managing Editor
13. Los Angeles Rams (via ATL): Jermod McCoy, CB, Tennessee
Until proven otherwise, cornerback remains the Rams’ top need. They should invest heavily into this room to clean house and restart in the room this offseason, and that starts with an investment at the top of the draft. Even with the injury keeping him out all of 2025, Jermod McCoy is the top cover talent in this class, and he fits seamlessly in the Rams’ defense. – AJ Schulte, A to Z Sports Oklahoma
14. Baltimore Ravens: Makai Lemon, WR, USC
Many believe that Makai Lemon is the best WR in this class. His falling to the Ravens at 14 feels like a dream come true for an offense that needs an influx of talent in the passing game. Baltimore will always be a run-first team, but the lack of production outside of Zay Flowers has been too much for Lamar Jackson to overcome in recent years. Lemon does his best work from the slot, but he has the competitive nature and enough speed to make plays vertically. – Rob Gregson, A to Z Sports Pittsburgh
15. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Cashius Howell, EDGE, Texas A&M
Todd Bowles struggled last season to generate a consistent pass rush due to injuries and a lack of talent on the outside. Cashius Howell is exactly what Bowles likes in an edge rusher: explosive and bnding around the arc, and can bring a lot of juice to a pass rush that needs it. – Tyler Forness, A to Z Sports Minnesota
16. New York Jets (via IND): Peter Woods, DT, Clemson
2025 was not the season that Woods was hoping for, but the talent is still very much there. At 6-2 and 315 pounds, he is an extremely explosive athlete from the interior. When Woods is playing well, he is nearly unblockable from multiple alignments. – Ryan Roberts, A to Z Sports Notre Dame
17. Detroit Lions: Monroe Freeling, OT, Georgia
Georgia OT Monroe Freeling has been skyrocketing up the consensus board. The 6-7 tackle is expected to wow people with his athletic testing and has some down right domiant moments on film playing in the SEC. This may seem high for Freeing but he may have the highest ceiling of any tackle in this class and can play right away for the Lions. – Destin Adams, A to Z Sports Indianapolis
18. Minnesota Vikings: Caleb Banks, DT, Florida
The biggest need overall is in the secondary for the Vikings, but adding a high-upside defensive tackle is something they also need to a high degree. Banks provides that in droves. He’s a perfect player for an odd front, with pass rush aptitude to be a 6.0 sack per year guy, along with the size and strength profile to play nose tackle. – Tyler Forness, A to Z Sports Minnesota
19. Carolina Panthers: Keldric Faulk, EDGE, Auburn
Carolina invested in some pass rush in the top-100 of this past year’s NFL Draft. Scourton looks like a keeper. Faulk is a different kind of cat, though — he blurs the lines between interior and edge play at times with his size and he’d be a great bet to place for a team that has a bunch of supersized maulers up front. When you get to passing downs, Faulk can put his hand in the dirt and go from a bunch of alignments, including inside. – Kyle Crabbs, A to Z Sports Miami
20. Dallas Cowboys (via GBP): Avieon Terrell, CB, Clemson
The Dallas Cowboys need pass rushers, but they just barely missed the best options at both of their first round picks. The next best thing would be to go best player available, taking a cornerback who some consider to be the in the CB1 conversation this year. Avieon Terrell was already ready to be a first round pick after 2024, defending a dozen passes that year, allowing less than 50% completion rate through two years. Clemson struggled as a team last fall, but Terrell still played like a first round pick once again. – Travis May, A to Z Sports College Football & NFL Draft Managing Editor
21. Pittsburgh Steelers: Ty Simpson, QB, Alabama
Until we know for sure that Aaron Rodgers is back in Pittsburgh, and honestly even beyond then, I will keep mocking Ty Simpson to the Steelers. There is a thought out there that Simpson could be another Kenny Pickett. The truth is, Simpson’s sample size may be small, but his highs are first overall pick caliber. He can make plays in and out of structure, when in rhythm, he’s a precise passer, and he played a gauntlet of a schedule, battling through injuries all the way until the end. – Rob Gregson, A to Z Sports Pittsburgh
22. Los Angeles Chargers: Olaivavega Ioane, IOL, Penn State
As long as Ioane gets here, it is the obvious pick for LA. Jim Harbaugh’s team has to improve on the interior of the offensive line, and the Nittany Lions product is a day one starter in the pros. Be smart and keep Justin Herbert upright. – Adam Holt, A to Z Sports Philadelphia
23. Philadelphia Eagles: Zion Young, EDGE, Missouri
Young continues to climb in mock drafts, and I think the Eagles could really like his blend of power and athleticism. He’s dynamic off the edge, and that will be a huge need for the Eagles pass rush if they do not bring backcourt Jaelan Phillips. The trenches get even more stout for Philly. – Adam Holt, A to Z Sports Philadelphia
24. Cleveland Browns (via JAX): Caleb Lomu, OT, Utah
Cleveland will have a complete reset on the offensive line this offseason, with multiple starters set to hit free agency. Fortunately, the top of the draft offers plenty of talent they can scoop up, such as Utah’s Caleb Lomu, who projects as one of the top pass protectors of the class. – AJ Schulte, A to Z Sports Oklahoma
25. Chicago Bears: Kayden McDonald, DT, Ohio State
Kayden McDonald will upgrade the run defense of whichever team drafts him the moment he walks onto an NFL field. He is exactly what the Bears defense needs and would feel like a home run selection. – Destin Adams, A to Z Sports Indianapolis
26. Buffalo Bills: KC Concepcion, WR, Texas A&M
The Bills need to start making things easier for quarterback Josh Allen. Concepcion is tremendous after the catch, possessing notable short area quickness and long speed. This is the type of after catch impact that the Bills offense greatly needs. – Ryan Roberts, A to Z Sports Notre Dame
27. San Francisco 49ers: Denzel Boston, WR, Washington
The 49ers are going to say farewell to Brandon AIyuk and they’re possibly going to say goodbye to Jauan Jennings, too. Sprinkle in a George Kittle injury that could (should?) bleed into the start of the 2026 season and the 49ers’ pass catchers are going to need some attention. Boston is a big-bodied player with good physicality; I like him to offer the mix of size, aggression, and blocking elements that help make this 49ers offense go in the skill rooms. – Kyle Crabbs, A to Z Sports Miami
28. Houston Texans: Kadyn Proctor, OT, Alabama
Kadyn Proctor isn’t perfect, but his physical tools are absolutely nuts. Houston needs to revamp essentially their entire offensive line, so adding a 6-7, 370-pound monster with powerful hands is a good idea. He struggled immensely with his footwork in his first year with Alabama, but he slowly progressed as a blocker, becoming a potential first round talent by the end of 2025. – Travis May, A to Z Sports College Football & NFL Draft Managing Editor
29. Los Angeles Rams: Kenyon Sadiq, TE, Oregon
BPA, anyone? I have to admit, adding Sadiq to the Rams’ offense alongside Terrance Ferguson might be a tad unfair, as both of those players have versatility and are natural receivers. If the Rams are set to continue evolving their usage of heavier personnel, the allure of Sadiq there has to be appealing. – AJ Schulte, A to Z Sports Oklahoma
30. Denver Broncos: Akheem Mesidor, EDGE, Miami (FL)
People are going to question Mesidor’s age, but you can’t even count on one hand the number of pass rushers in this class that were more productive than Mesidor in 2025. His ability to get off the ball, bend, and explode at nearly 280 pounds is remarkable. He and Nik Bonnito would create a dynamic one-two punch off the edge for a Denver defense that is already top-notch. – Rob Gregson, A to Z Sports Pittsburgh
31. New England Patriots: R Mason Thomas, EDGE, Oklahoma
The Patriots defense took a massive step forward in 2025 to get them into the Super Bowl, but they did so with their best edge rusher being K’Lavon Chaisson. Thomas might have an odd profile with smaller arms, but he’s got a motor that doesn’t quit, can bend the arc, and is a much better run defender than given credit for. – Tyler Forness, A to Z Sports Minnesota
32. Seattle Seahawks: Colton Hood, CB, Tennessee
Love this value for Hood. He can step into a Seattle secondary already teeming with talent. With Riq Woolen potentially exiting during free agency, cornerback may be the biggest need for Mike Macdonald’s defense, and we know he will address it as swiftly and strongly as possible. Hood is one of the best press man cornerbacks in this class, too. – Adam Holt, A to Z Sports Philadelphia
