The Green Bay Packers have a very specific type of player they tend to go after. Even if the free agent profile can be a little looser than what the team does in the draft, the Packers will naturally lean on athletic players, with solid character, and specific traits based on the position.

In terms of market, though, the Packers prefer young players entering their second NFL deals — that’s the case with their latest free agent signings Xavier McKinney, Josh Jacobs, Aaron Banks, and Nate Hobbs.

“We’re usually looking for a more long-term solution,” general manager Brian Gutekunst recently said. “And certainly if you’re up there in age, that may not be the case.”

So, let’s discuss five potential free agent targets who fit what the Packers look for — including positional needs. The market valuations come from Spotrac.

DT Logan Hall, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

  • Market value: Three years, $23.928 million ($7.9 million APY)

Hall is a rising interior defensive line piece who will be 26 by the start of the season. He’s coming off his best season, particularly improving as a run defender — something the Packers badly need on the roster. In 2025, he generated a career high 32 pressures, and his cost isn’t prohibitive.

CB Montaric Brown, Jacksonville Jaguars

  • Market value: Three years, $27.684 million ($9.2 million APY)

Brown was the first pick in the seventh round back in 2022, and he turned out to be a real NFL player throughout his first four seasons — but especially the past two. Primarily a boundary corner, Brown allowed a 73.5 passer rating when targeted this last season. Brown is 6-0, 190 pounds, fitting the Packers’ physical profile.

CB Cor’Dale Flott, New York Giants

  • Market value: Four years, $38.031 million ($9.5 million APY)

Flott is lighter than the Packers usually prefer at 175 pounds, the Green Bay isn’t as strict in free agency — and he had a solid 7.46 Relative Athletic Score coming out of college. The former third-round pick is still 24, he’ll be 25 by Week 1, and he’s been solid throughout his career. Last season, he allowed a 72.8 passer rating when targeted, playing primarily as a boundary corner.

C Cade Mays, Carolina Panthers

  • Market value: Three years, $38.78 million ($12.3 million APY)

Tyler Linderbaum is the big fish at center in free agency, but the Packers most likely can’t afford him. Meanwhile, Mays is a smart cost-efficient alternative. A sixth-round pick in 2022, he spent most of his career with the Panthers, but got waived and spent some time on the New York Giants before returning to the Panthers and establishing himself as a starter over the past two seasons. He also played significant snaps at both guard spots, which fits the Packers preferences. He’s not a stellar player, but he’s solid in pass protection and viable in run block, which would probably be an upgrade over Sean Rhyan.

G Dylan Parham, Las Vegas Raiders

  • Market value: Three years, $30.19 million ($10.1 million APY)

Another relatively young player, who will be 27 by Week 1, entering his second NFL contract. Parham has played extensively at guard on both sides, plus some early-career experience at center. He’s not necessarily a high-level interior offensive lineman, but he’s solid at both pass protecting and run blocking. Coming from a down year to his standards (but still not bad) under difficult circumstances in Chip Kelly’s offensive scheme, Parham could come at a discount to be a useful piece to deepen the roster depth.
