The Browns would be better off if Dane Brugler’s mock became reality.

Coming off a 5-12 season, the Cleveland Browns need a lot of change to happen this offseason. The change has already begun with a trade for OT Tytus Howard, and it’ll pick up next week with free agency.

When April gets here, all focus will turn back to the NFL draft. The Browns knocked it out of the park a year ago with their selection, and need to do the same again to speed up this rebuild

The Athletic’s Dane Brugler dropped his latest mock draft, and he has the Browns adding three difference makers with their first three picks.

Round 1, Pick 6: Spencer Fano, OL, Utah

Round 1, Pick 24: Jordyn Tyson, WR, Arizona State

Rookie 2, Pick 39: D’Angelo Ponds, CB, Indiana

My takeaway from Dane Brugler’s 2-round 2026 NFL Mock Draft

Cleveland fills a need with Fano at the No. 6 pick. The Browns would ideally fill in the Utah product at left tackle and hope he can be the long-term solution there. If Fano can’t be the left tackle, moving him inside shouldn’t be a problem. With the Browns trading for Howard, drafting a left tackle looks like the move early on.

If it weren’t for his injury concerns, Tyson would be the top wideout in the draft. The Arizona State product has legit WR1 ability, and Cleveland already has his brother, Cavaliers’ Jaylon Tyson. If Tyson can stay healthy, this could end up being the steal of the draft.

It’s easy to see Cleveland’s first two picks going on offense, but it gets interesting after those selections. Indiana’s Ponds would be a player I would be interested in starting in the second round. You’re talking about the best cornerback in the draft here if you factor away his height. Ponds would start in the nickel on Day 1 for the Browns, which is a very important position in today’s NFL.

The combine is over and pro days will be happening soon. If the Browns rolled out these three picks come April, I think you’d have to be pretty happy with it. A step in the right direction.
