The Indianapolis Colts, like the rest of the league, will be busy over the next two months as they work to finalize their boards ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft.

With the scouting combine in the rearview mirror, the team has moved into traveling to Pro Days, scheduling in-house visits with prospects, and sending out invites to local talent for their local Pro Day.

Looking ahead to their local Pro Day, there’s an interesting prospect the Colts have reportedly already extended an invite to. That being a former five-star high school CB recruit, Purdue’s Tony Grimes.

Grimes is coming off a five-season collegiate career that ended with one season in Indiana as a member of the Purdue Boilermakers. He had stops at four different schools, and he played for three of them, but before all of that, he was one of the top high school recruits in the country.

Rivals graded Grimes as a five-star recruit, the 19th player in the country, the third-highest-ranked CB, and the top player in the state of Virginia. He landed an elite recruiting score of 97.64 and ultimately committed to play at North Carolina.

He spent his first three seasons with the Tar Heels, where he appeared in 37 games and recorded 97 total tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 1 interception, and 19 pass deflections. He then transferred to join the Texas A&M Aggies, but an injury kept him out of the entire 2023 season, prompting him to transfer again in 2024 to UNLV. There, he appeared in 13 games and recorded 20 total tackles and six pass deflections.

That then leads us to his last year of college, where he transferred for a third and final time to join the Purdue Boilermakers. He finished the year with 34 total tackles, five pass deflections, and allowed a 53.5% completion percentage when targeted.

He has solid size at just over 6-0, and he will have the ability to play on the outside or in the slot if he carves out a role in the NFL. He recently participated at Purdue’s Pro Day and showed off his athletic ability to teams in attendance. I took his results and input them into the A to Z Sports Athletic Composite. You can see his data shared in the card below. Some notable players whose testing resembles that of Kyler Gordon and Roger McCreary.
