Jerry Jones could be the savior the Las Vegas Raiders desperately need in Maxx Crosby trade debacle
The Raiders may still have a suitor for Maxx Crosby.
Over the weekend, the Las Vegas Raiders appeared to trade Maxx Crosby to the Baltimore Ravens. However, on Tuesday, the Raiders announced the Ravens had backed out of the trade.
Now, it appears that people in league circles believe that the Ravens handled the situation very poorly. Multiple reports indicate Crosby did not pass his physical in Baltimore on Thursday, which prompted the reversal. However, his surgery for a torn meniscus in January was known by everyone, as it was all public knowledge.
So, what happens now? Do they still trade him, or do they keep him? Well, there is one team that may still be interested in trading for Crosby.
Raiders may be able to deal Crosby to Dallas
We know that before the “trade” happened, the Chicago Bears, Philadelphia Eagles, and Dallas Cowboys were all interested, and that the Ravens agreed to the trade with the best offer.
Baltimore offered pick No. 14 in 2026 and a 2027 first-round pick. The Raiders had been operating as if they would receive these picks in addition to taking Mendoza No. 1 overall. The Eagles, Cowboys, and Bears reportedly made offers as well, but their packages—such as fewer or later picks—were less valuable than Baltimore’s. That doesn’t mean they can’t circle back to Dallas now.
According to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network, the Cowboys are a team to watch in the new Maxx Crosby Sweepstakes.
Dallas reportedly offered a first- and second-round pick; Dallas’ first-round pick is higher than Baltimore’s at No. 12, rather than No. 14, but the second-rounder is from 2027, where the Ravens sent a first in 2027. The status of Dallas’ current offer is now uncertain, as Baltimore backed out after the failed physical. As for Chicago and Philadelphia, their prior offers were lower than Baltimore’s, or the Raiders would have accepted them. Now, the Raiders could be looking at just keeping Crosby.
