Maxx Crosby single-handedly crushed Cowboys Nation’s hopes of a trade happening despite Ravens fiasco
The Las Vegas Raiders star sent an intense message on social media, and it doesn’t sound like he’ll be traded.
Welp. If you had any hopes the Dallas Cowboys could still pull off a trade for Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby, he might have put and end to them with an intense social media post on Wednesday night.
Following the recent Crosby-Baltimore Ravens fiasco, the star pass rusher returned to Raiders facilities to continue with his rehab from a January knee surgery.
Crosby says he’s fully ‘back’ with Raiders
“Everything happens for a reason,” Crosby wrote on a social media post that quickly went viral. “Believe nothing you hear and half of what you see. I’m a Raider. I’m back. Run that (expletive).”
The post was accompanied by an GIF of WWE legend The Undertaker.
Could it be a simple post with no real meaning behind it? There’s a chance. Yes.
But we know Crosby loves the Raiders. He consistently shut down rumors of a potential trade because he didn’t want people talking about his potential departure from the franchise. After the Ravens and Raiders agreed to terms on a trade, he posted a lengthy goodbye video to fans.
This sounds like Crosby knows something. What that something is anyone’s guess. Maybe the Raiders are discovering no one is willing to give them what they want after the DE’s failed physical in Baltimore. Maybe they feel different about their chances after a very active free agency.
Whatever it is, betting on Crosby staying seems like the safe bet right now.
Cowboys targeting Crosby already looked unlikely
Even before Crosby’s message, the Cowboys were already looking like an unlikely suitor for him.
Dr. Dan Cooper, the team’s head physician, was a part of the Ravens’ medical review of Crosby that resulted in them backing out of the deal. Additionally, reports have indicated the Cowboys have moved on following a trade for EDGE Rashan Gary.
