7-Round Los Angeles Rams mock draft: What are the next steps for the Rams after free agency?
How did the opening salvo of free agency affect the Los Angeles Rams plans for the 2026 NFL Draft?
The Los Angeles Rams got free agency started off with a bang, signing cornerback Jaylen Watson to pair with recently-acquired Trent McDuffie. The tandem now give the Rams their starting duo at cornerback, solving their biggest weakness on the roster.
This approach in free agency now allows the Rams to attack the 2026 NFL Draft their way, keeping every possible option on the table. What does the acquisition of Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson mean for their NFL Draft strategy? How does it change the game at 13th overall?
Los Angeles Rams 7-round 2026 NFL mock draft
Round 1, Pick 13: Jordyn Tyson, WR, Arizona State
The closer we get to the draft, I have grown more and more confident in the Rams making offense their first pick, and they do so here with Tyson. Tyson has the athletic tools and route-running finesse to be the heir apparent to Davante Adams as the X WR outside.
Additionally, with the incoming Puka Nacua extension, having a cheap wide receiver contract next to him is smart business all around to help the Rams navigate that cap hit.
Round 2, Pick 61: Caleb Tiernan, OT, Northwestern
I’m tired of skirting around the elephant in the room at offensive tackle. I don’t think either of the Rams’ starting tackles are quality starters, and it’s their biggest problem offensively. Alaric Jackson has struggled to stay on the field (and struggled when he has been on it), and Warren McClendon got exposed down the playoff stretch when they could no longer hide him.
Tiernan is an athletic easy mover who can play both tackle spots with very good athleticism, good play strength, and good technique. The Rams have never cared about length at tackle, so that won’t be a sticking point for them here. Tiernan gives them real competition at tackle and he can succeed either tackle.
Round 3, Pick 93: Davison Igbinosun, CB, Ohio State
Even with the addition of Watson and McDuffie, I still think the Rams should add at least one more outside cornerback in the offseason. They are an injury away from being forced to play Emmanuel Forbes again, something they might not be eager to do (I wouldn’t be).
Igbinosun is a physical, athletic specimen at cornerback who fits perfectly into the Rams’ new-look defense. New Rams’ assistant defensive backs coach Mike Hunter coached Igbinosun at Ohio State, and coould be a key cog in ensuring the Rams’ completely remake their secondary here.
Round 6, Pick 207: Louis Moore, S, Indiana
I would love for them to take a safety here to help free up Kam Curl to move around the formation, much like they did in the playoffs. Moore is a quintessential Ram, as he doesn’t match a lot of the measurables, but he’s just a good football player (that boy nice). A former wide receiver, Moore has impressive ball skills, as well as good range and toughness on the back end. He would be a strong addition at safety.
Round 7, Pick 232: Riley Nowakowski, TE, Indiana
I think the Rams are likely looking to improve their blocking at tight end, which was largely inconsistent last season. Nowakowski is untraditional to say the least, but his blocking was crucial to the Hoosier’s national title run, and he has the ability to be a lead blocker and checkdown option for the Rams.
Round 7, Pick 251: Caden Barnett, G, Wyoming
The Rams are looking to shore up their depth up front on the offensive line, particularly on the interior. Barnett is a squatty, powerful blocker who would up the physicality of the room up front and compete/unseat Justin Dedich as the swing lineman inside.
Round 7, Pick 252: Quintayvious Hutchins, EDGE, Boston College
Jared Verse, Byron Young, and Josaiah Stewart are a strong 1-2-3 for the Rams, but you can never have too many pass rushers, and more depth would allow them to keep Verse and Young fresh throughout the season.
Hutchins is fairly raw, but he’s an intriguing speed rusher who would also bolster the Rams’ special teams. He could be an impactful addition this late.

The Los Angeles Rams could easily afford an A.J. Brown trade, but there are obstacles to consider.
