The Washington Commanders are doing their due diligence this offseason by checking off every box before they make their selections in the 2026 NFL Draft.

They’ve been scouting draft prospects all season, then hit the road to see them in person at college All-Star games as well as college Pro Days. The Commanders will also bring in a select few and host them for a top-30 visit to get to know them even better.

This week, the Commanders are sending everyone to Ohio State’s Pro Day so they can make sure they get their No. 7 overall pick correct.

The Commanders will have all hands on deck for Ohio State’s Pro Day

General manager Adam Peters and his scouting team have already met with many top prospects and even late-round gems on their board at Pro Days around the country. None are bigger than the Ohio State Pro Day, however, where the top prospects will try to make one last impression on all 32 teams in attendance.

The Commanders are well prepared and are sending Peters, Assistant General Manager Lance Newmark, head coach Dan Quinn, offensive coordinator David Blough, and defensive coordinator Daronte Jones to watch the Buckeyes.

They need all of them there because there are way too many Buckeyes who could end up as the Commanders’ draft picks, especially in the first round.

Ohio State prospects the Commanders will target in the NFL Draft

It’s highly unlikely that EDGE/LB Arvell Reese will fall to the No. 7 overall pick, but I’m sure the Commanders would be all over him if he did. On the flip side, LB Sonny Styles, Safety Caleb Downs, and WR Carnell Tate could very well fall to the Commanders, and they’d have a tough decision to make.

Personally, I’d love for the Commanders to take Tate and finally get their playmaker of the future and provide Jayden Daniels with another weapon in a critical season. They can take a really good safety with the No. 71 overall pick, and they just signed LB Leo Chenal in free agency.

Outside of the No. 7 overall pick, the Commanders are showing strong interest in DT Kayden McDonald, and they have a top-30 scheduled with him as well. They would likely have to trade back and take him in the back half of the first round, and collect more picks to address other needs, which they lack with only six overall picks.

CB Davison Igbinosun is another prospect I’m keeping an eye on, and he could be a target with the No. 71 overall pick. The Commanders need a physical lockdown outside CB, and Igbinosun would be a perfect fit for Quinn and Jones.

There’s a strong chance one of these Buckeyes will be a Commander next season, and they’re sending everyone possible to the most important Pro Day of the offseason.
