Ohio State football has self-reported multiple NCAA violations, and it comes at the same time the Buckeyes are ramping up things for the spring
The Buckeyes have self reported multiple NCAA violations, according to a report.
The Ohio State Buckeyes are in their second week of spring practice and on Wednesday they’ll be running their pro day in front of plenty of NFL decision makers. While the Buckeyes are back on the practice field, there is some news on the program off the field.
Ohio State football has self-reported multiple minor NCAA violations
According to The Columbus Dispatch, Ohio State has self-reported on three NCAA violations, and all three were minor infractions. Violations included the Buckeyes having a student manager who was no longer enrolled with the school, a social media post, and a player returning to workouts before being medically cleared.
Last summer was when the first violation took place when a one-time Ohio State student remained working as a student manager when they were no longer enrolled as a student at the university. Since then Ohio State has removed the student manager who once handled some play clock duties during practice.
In Jan. of 2025, a player participated in strength and conditioning with the team before he was medically cleared to. The said player was medically cleared the same day of the incident.
Ohio State’s final self-reported violation was an assistant coach sharing a social media post of a transfer portal commit to the Buckeyes. The problem with it was that the assistant shared it before it was technically official.
All three are, again, minor infractions where very minor penalties will be handed down if any. Self-reported violations are a common practice in college sports.
