Kirby Smart’s comments about Marshall Manning are making the rounds again now that the hype is building around Peyton Manning’s son
Peyton Manning’s son Marshall is expected to be a top recruit in the 2030 class.
The hype train for Marshall Manning, the son of Tennessee Vols legend and Hall of Famer Peyton Manning, has officially left the station.
Marshall is a class of 2030 recruit who is in the early stages of his football journey, but he already looks like a player who has a very bright future ahead.
Recent clips of Marshall throwing have gone viral on social media thanks to his strong mechanics and accurate arm. He just looks, well, different.
The recruiting process hasn’t really started yet for Marshall, but it won’t be long before coaches from all over the country are knocking on the door.
Georgia’s Kirby Smart may have been the first coach to publicly comment on Peyton Manning’s son
Oddly enough, Georgia’s Kirby Smart may have been the first coach to publicly comment about Peyton’s son.
Smart and Peyton are close friends — they’re about the same age, they took recruiting trips together, and they both played in the SEC around the same time.
In 2021, after Tennessee played Georgia in Knoxville, Smart claimed Peyton told him to recruit Marshall.
“I got a chance to talk to Peyton before the game, but it was more about his son,” said Smart. “He wants me to recruit his son.”
Marshall will go through the recruiting process like all the Mannings have and make his own decision. I don’t think Peyton will force him to go to Tennessee. And I think Georgia could end up being a real contender down the road for Marshall. But for now, I don’t think making a college choice is anywhere on Marshall’s radar.
But still, the idea of Peyton’s son playing for the Bulldogs is going to be a scary thought for Vols fans until Marshall makes a decision in a couple of years.
