Tennessee will be going into their pivotal series against the LSU Tigers this weekend in Knoxville with a new look pitching rotation.

According to GoVols247’s Ben McKee, Josh Elander is making another change to his pitching rotation, after shaking things up just one week ago.

Landon Mack will start Game 1, with Tegan Kuhns going for Game 2, and Evan Blanco keeping his usual spot on Sunday.

Elander pulled Kuhns from the rotation and sent him to the bullpen for the opener in Nashville last weekend against Vanderbilt, while Brandon Arvidson got the nod from the bullpen.

After just one weekend, Kuhns is getting his spot back in the rotation, something that Elander hinted at after the Vols’ 13-4 win over Austin Peay on Tuesday.

“Reyn (pitching coach Josh Reynolds) and I will talk about it tomorrow,” Elander said. “I would imagine it will change a little bit. We’ve talked about our challenge right now has been how do we finish games better? We’re right there in a lot of these games, and, again, you can go match up. You can go make up. You can look at numbers and a lot of different things. But I do think we’ll end up changing it a little bit.”

Kuhns certainly did a solid job last weekend out of the bullpen, allowing one earned run in 4.1 innings with six strikeouts. Unfortunately, that run came in the 10th inning of the Vols’ first of three walk off losses to the Commodores.

Now, the Vols will have Arvidson back in the bullpen, and Kuhns will get the chance to recapture that strong start to the season as the Vols look to bounce back in SEC play after a 3-6 start.

The Vols and Tigers get their series started on Friday evening at 5:30 pm ET at Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
