The Miami Dolphins certainly have a bevy of options later this month, when they’re scheduled to make the No. 11 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

That is a bit of a double-edged sword. It’s nice to have options and be in a solid spot to pick, but it also means you have plenty of roster spots that need to be addressed, and Miami certainly does.

Finding a shutdown corner is on the list of to-do’s for general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan and head coach Jeff Hafley. And it appears they’re doing their homework on the player considered by some to be the top cornerback prospect in this year’s draft.

Per NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Dolphins are taking a top 30 visit with LSU cornerback Mansoor Delane on Monday and Tuesday. Delane will continue on to a two-day meeting with the Giants, starting on Wednesday.

Cornerback certainly feels like a spot where the Dolphins could go early in the draft, along with offensive line, edge rusher, and perhaps even wide receiver. And Delane is one of two players who appear to be clearly above the rest of the cornerback class, alongside Tennessee’s Jermod McCoy.

Delane was absurdly sticky last year for the Tigers. Pro Football Focus credits him with allowing just 14 catches on 35 targets for an opposer passer rating of 31.3. That’s pretty absurd. He has instincts and anticipation that are hard to find, and you add in sub-4.40 speed, and you have the makings of a true number one cornerback for Miami.

That’s certainly a hard thing to pass up, as finding those shutdown corners is tough — and paying them in free agency is even tougher.

We’ll find out if Delane is South Florida bound on April 23, when the 2026 NFL Draft gets underway in Pittsburgh.
