The consensus of who will be available for the Miami Dolphins to draft in the early chapters of the 2026 NFL Draft seem to be shifting.

The status quo expectations for this year’s early picks has largely been set for the better part of the last few months. But, as is the case when teams start finalizing their boards, the pecking order appears to be tilting. Some of this is surely smokescreens. But some of it is not — and we re-learn this lesson every year. So what are the new storylines saying about Miami’s prospects at pick No. 11?

Newest nuggets from NFL media suggest some new players could be staring the Dolphins in the face in the NFL Draft

The Peter Schrager/Daniel Jeremiah crossover this week offered a lot more than just a great listen and a mock draft. The duo is among the more well-connected in the larger media hemisphere, particularly with Jeremiah’s roots as a scout and the NFL Draft. Some of the musings from the show included a potential change at CB1, a local star potentially falling out of the top-10, and more.

LSU cornerback Mansoor Delane has been tabbed as the top cornerback from months. And then Tennessee’s Jermod McCoy ran a 4.38s 40-yard dash — the momentum now feels to be on McCoy’s side as the top corner in the 2026 NFL Draft. This falls in Miami’s favor, as the Dolphins hosted Delane this week on a ’30 visit’. There’s interest there, but it only matters if Delane makes it to 11.

Rueben Bain Jr. fell to 10th in the Schrager/Jeremiah mock, just out of the reach of the Dolphins in a bid to keep him in South Florida. ESPN’s Matt Miller this week also chimed in that (if he ‘had to guess’) Bain Jr. does not actually go in the top-10 picks.

That’s a whole lot of momentum fading Bain as we come hurtling down the home stretch. Again. Maybe it’s smoke. Perhaps a whole bunch of nothing. But the resolution does get more clear on some fronts every year. We just don’t know if the CB1 conversation and Bain slide are on the right side of the fence.
