The Pittsburgh Steelers are still looking for a defensive position that was addressed in free agency when looking at their latest pre-draft visit.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have started to ramp up their 30 visits at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex this week, welcoming a plethora of prospects across a spectrum of grades and position groups.

Well, in their latest trio of visits, the push for a first-round wide receiver continues, but it’s a player on the defensive side of the ball that catches my eye the most, especially when you consider what the Steelers did in free agency.

Steelers hosting Toledo S Emmanuel McNeil-Warren on pre-draft visit

Even after the signing of Jaquan Brisker in free agency and the presumptive return of DeShon Elliott, the Steelers are doing their homework on the safety position in the pre-draft process, and McNeil-Warren is one of my favorites.

He is an absolute heat-seeking missile who can play on the roof of the defense with true centerfielder range, he has an eye for the football, and he will come down and thump against the run. I love him as a Minkah Fitzpatrick replacement in Pittsburgh.

Steelers hosting USC WR Makai Lemon

Lemon is a bit of a polarizing prospect in this class. Some view him as the best wide receiver because of his ready-made NFL skill set. He primarily aligned in the slot at USC, but he was dominant there with natural separation skills and a great pair of hands.

However, some of his interviews at the NFL Combine rubbed people the wrong way, and he isn’t going to blow anyone away with how he tests. He is arguably the best fit in the class for the Steelers, who could use a route-running savant to roam the middle alongside Metcalf and Pittman on the perimeter.

Steelers hosting Michigan TE Marlin Klein

Klein is an international player who will probably go in the later rounds. He’s a vertical stretch player who would complement the two skillsets the Steelers currently employ in that room with Darnell Washington and Pat Freiermuth.
