Browns send Pro Bowler to play for Kevin Stefanski again with the Falcons in proposed trade idea that would be a win for Cleveland

Kevin Stefanski found another NFL home quickly after being fired by the Cleveland Browns. Now with the Atlanta Falcons, it may make sense for him to try to get one of his former playmakers from Cleveland.

The Cleveland Browns have undergone quite a bit of change on the offensive side of the football this offseason. There are no returning starters along the offensive line and there’s going to be more additions through the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft. One player remaining as a veteran offensive piece for the Browns is Jerry Jeudy. Could he be moved?

Jerry Jeudy trade idea floated to send him south with Kevin Stefanski

Fox Sports recently proposed an interesting trade sending Jeudy to the Falcons for a second-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Such draft compensation would be tough for the Browns to turn down when you factor in the direction of the team adding younger playmakers and his decline from 2024 to 2025.

“New Falcons coach Kevin Stefanski knows the ups and downs of the 27-year-old Jeudy, and he knows he needs a No. 2 receiver (currently either Jahan Dotson or Olamide Zaccheaus will fill that role). Jeudy had a terrible season last year, but in 2024 he caught 90 passes for 1,229 yards with Jameis Winston, Deshaun Watson, Dorian Thompson-Robinson, and Bailey Zappe throwing him the ball. He’d be a huge help for No. 1 WR Drake London with Tua Tagovailoa and/or Michael Penix Jr. behind center.”

Landing a second-round pick for Jeudy would give Cleveland four draft picks through the first two rounds. The draft is loaded with Day 1 and Day 2 wide receiver talent and the team is already likely to take one in the first round even with Jeudy on the team. In a theoretical world, spending two of those first-round picks on wideouts would be on the table.

The Browns’ trade of Jerry Jeudy is interesting if they could get a second-round pick

I’m questioning the idea the Browns can get a second-round pick for Jeudy coming off a season where he had 602 receiving yards one season after he doubled that total. If they can though, the Browns could do some damage in the draft.

Cleveland adding some combo of Carnell Tate, Makai Lemon, Denzel Boston, Omar Cooper Jr., Jordyn Tyson, and Chris Bell is something I’d sign up for. Tate and Lemon are players the Browns would look at grabbing with the first pick they have, the others would come later.

Jeudy’s two seasons have been up and down and the Browns aren’t going to the playoffs in 2026. There’s no real reason to be against the trade due to the compensation received.
