Steelers just revealed their interest in electric quarterback prospect who many believe could be a steal in the 2026 NFL Draft
The Steelers are hosting three notable prospects in Pittsburgh this week, but it is a quarterback visiting who is most intriguing.
We are approaching the homestretch of preparations for the NFL Draft. While the city of Pittsburgh prepares to welcome potentially over a million visitors for the marquee event, the host franchise is busy at work.
The Pittsburgh Steelers‘ draft board is being finalized, and part of those preparations includes hosting prospects on visits. The Steelers were busy at work doing that last week, and it continued on Monday, with one of the more intriguing prospects in the 2026 quarterback class.
Steelers hosting Arkansas QB Taylen Green on 30 visit
Green is likely to still go in the mid-to-late rounds of next week’s draft, but I wouldn’t be surprised if someone took a gamble on him earlier than people expect. Let’s be clear here, he is very rough around the edges as a true quarterback.
He lacks the skills to be a current starter in the league, with questions about mechanics, ball location, and Sunday throws, but he makes up for it with capital E elite athleticism. At over 6-6 and close to 230 pounds, Green ran a 4.37 in the 40, jumped over 11 feet in the broad, and put on his NBA Draft prospect shoes to jump over 43 inches in the vertical. He’s the exact kind of late-round swing that I would like to see in Pittsburgh. For more on Green, I reached out to A to Z Sports CFB analyst Justin Churchill.
“Taylen Green is one of the most athletic quarterbacks you will see. His long strides make escaping the pocket and picking up extra yards easy. His height helps him see over the defense and navigate the field well with his eyes. But there’s still a lot of work he needs done to be an NFL QB. He’s not the best at reading defenses and there is some mechanical issues there as well. But, everything he needs to work on can be fixed. If he can put it all together, and someone can get that out of him, he can be as talented a QB we have seen. But, that’s asking a lot—maybe asking more than just requesting he switch positions.” – Churchill
Steelers also host Spencer Fano, Germie Bernard
I’ll put it plainly: barring something outrageous coming out before the NFL Draft or something behind the scenes, there is no way that Utah OL Spencer Fano falls to the Steelers at 21.
The only way he’s in a Steelers hat at the end of the night is if the Steelers trade for him. He’s arguably the most athletic tackle in the draft, has elite tape, and is OT number one on a lot of boards. Never hurts to do your research, however.
As for Germie Bernard, he checks a lot of boxes when it comes to what the Steelers and more specifically, Mike McCarthy covet at WR. He’s tough, plays physical at the catch point, and has the alignment versatility and physical profile to play the X, Z, and F. 53 might be a little rich, but I wouldn’t mind the move from Pittsburgh.
