Here’s how much it likely cost the Cincinnati Bengals to pay for Kaelon Black’s Uber ride from Chicago
The Cincinnati Bengals made sure Kaelon Black arrived in time to make a 30 visit earlier this week from Chicago. Approximately $500 later, he arrived via an Uber.
The Cincinnati Bengals made sure Indiana running back Kaelon Black was able to get to his pre-draft visit in time.
Wednesday was the final day for NFL clubs to host 30 visits for 2026 NFL Draft prospects. Black was supposed to fly in to Cincinnati from Chicago before his flight was canceled Tuesday.
The Bengals essentially said don’t worry, you’re taking the highway instead.
Per NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero, Cincy picked up the tab for an Uber to drive Black over 300 miles down from Chi-Town to the Queen City.
The 30 visit deadline surely sparked this action. In order to get Black in town on time to make the visit, the Bengals opted to cover the charge of a five-hour ride.
How much did they pay? We may never know for sure, but we can learn a possible cost for ourselves.
Bengals likely spent around $500 for Kaelon Black’s Uber trip
A five-hour Uber ride is no joke. I would not recommend it for an aspiring traveler from of distance.
When I opened my Uber app on my phone, I couldn’t even get an estimated price for a trip from Paycor Stadium to Chicago O’Hare International Airport.
X/Twitter user @BillyM_91, a phenomenal account for all things draft and NFL related, came in clutch with his own findings. An UberX would’ve cost $490.99, while an UberXL would’ve went for $832.98!
How does this compare to the cost of a flight? At the time of this posting, a one-way ticket from Cincinnati’s international airport, CVG, to O’Hare on Delta Airlines would’ve ran the Bengals $390.
It’s very likely they spent a little bit more money to get Black in on time. He could be coming back to Cincy very shortly
When is Kaelon Black expected to be drafted?
Black is projected to be drafted late on Day 3. His Average Draft Position in the A to Z Sports NFL Mock Draft Database is No. 201, putting right in the range of a sixth-round pick.
The Bengals have two sixth-round picks at No. 189 and No. 199. Yes, that second pick is the same one the New England Patriots used to draft Tom Brady.
Cincinnati shouldn’t expect Black to be the next greatest winner in the history of the sport, but he could definitely become a Bengal with one of those sixth-round selections.
