It’s quite apropos that the day after WrestleMania 42 and the week the Detroit Lions will get some work done at the 2026 NFL Draft, my worlds collide.

You see, when I’m not a mild-mannered Lions beat writer for AtoZ Sports, I’m a pro wrestling fan. So yeah, anytime I can write a story where I can talk about the Lions and WWE at the same time, I’m going to sprint to my computer to do it. So let’s do it.

WWE Superstar Danhausen has cursed all of the Lions’ enemies

If you’ve watched wrestling in the last 10 years from any company, be it WWE, AEW, Ring of Honor, or Indy stuff, you know who Danhausen is. He’s a supernatural demon character who is like the Munsters mixed with Dark Shadows mixed with Beetlejuice mixed with a vaudevillian clown from the 1800’s who regularly curses his opponents. He also happens to be from Detroit.

The curse results in that wrestler losing their championship or non-title matches or getting embarrassed in some way, shape, or form.

So, cursing the Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings, and Green Bay Packers could result in all three of those teams could result in losses for them and maybe even some hilariously embarrassing losses. This is big news for the Lions.

In addition to the Lions’ enemies, Danhausen also cursed the enemies of the Detroit Tigers, Detroit Pistons, and Detroit Red Wings. It sure would have been nice if he had done that for the Wings a few weeks ago.

By the way, if you’re reading this while watching your TV shows, movies, and reading your books, and saying wrestling is fake. This is my response:
