The New Orleans Saints are not ignoring their offensive playmaking group. After signing running back Travis Etienne Jr. during free agency, a pass catcher with tons of potential is joining Chris Olave at wide receiver for the black and gold.

Saints select WR Jordyn Tyson with eighth overall pick in 2026 NFL Draft

With the eighth pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the Saints have selected Arizona State wide receiver Jordyn Tyson.

“Jordyn Tyson ended the pre-draft process as the best wide receiver on some teams’ boards, and for good reason. You watch him run routes on air, and your jaw drops at how snappy his lower half is and how fluid his hips are despite his high cut, 6-2, 200-pound frame. He can win vertically and attacks the catch point with continuous competitive stamina and instinctive, late hands.

The concerns with Tyson are well-documented, however, and they all stem from injuries. He was never able to play a full season of college ball, dealing with some fluke injuries like a broken collarbone, as well as soft-tissue and lower-body injuries that can raise concern. It tends to be true that players who struggle to stay healthy in college struggle with the same thing in the NFL, a game of higher violence and intensity, but the upside of Tyson is so high that it’s hard not to look the other way.” — Rob Gregson

Adding Tyson to this passing game makes a ton of sense for Kellen Moore. Tyson has all of the makings for a top WR in an offensive unit and Pro Bowl potential. The medical concerns clearly did not scare off New Orleans’ contingency.

Additionally, the Saints are committing major resources to helping their young QB. That is always a smart move early in his career. Tyler Shough will appreciate this decision in a massive way.
