6-Round Detroit Lions Mock Draft: The Lions get one of the biggest steals of the draft in the second round
The Lions go trenches, trenches, and more trenches over the next two days of the 2026 NFL Draft
One day of the 2026 NFL Draft is down, and now it’s time for day two. There are still a lot of picks left to be made. With that in mind, here is a six-round mock draft for the Lions.
50th pick: Zion Young, Edge, Missouri
This would be one of the biggest steals of the second round. It wouldn’t be a shock if Young were one of the first few picks of day two. If he winds up falling 17 picks to the Lions at 50, that’s a big deal. In Young, the Lions get a really good run-stopper who can also get home. He had 57 pressures and nine sacks last year.
118th pick: Jaishawn Barham, Edge, Michigan
Don’t be fooled by the position. Barham was an edge at Michigan, but he’s a Sam linebacker for the Lions. He has that ability to set the edge in the run game, get to the quarterback, and drop into coverage. It’s not something that every player in the draft can do. So getting him at 118 is a big deal.
128th pick: Jadon Canady, CB, Oregon
The Lions have a potential starting slot cornerback in Roger McCreary on the roster already, but Canady is the best true slot corner in this draft. He’s been doing it at Oregon for years and with success. In 2025, he allowed a passer rating of just 39.4.
157th pick: Caden Curry, Edge, Ohio State
Lions fans who are also Michigan fans will have to once again put their hatred aside. The Lions need more than one edge rusher, and grabbing Curry at 157 is definitely worth doing. He’s only been a starter for one season, but he put up 46 pressures and 12 sacks in 2025. He’s also capable of setting the edge in the run game. A future rotational gem.
181st pick: Dontay Corleone, DT, Cincinnati
If Corleone truly does fall this far, he is a crazy steal. He’s been mocked as high as the second round, but health concerns have teams a bit worried, even though he’s passed multiple medical checks this offseason.
205th pick: Matt Gulbin, IOL, Michigan State
Why not grab an extra interior offensive lineman to compete with the rest of the guys on the roster? Worst-case scenario, you have a strong practice squad guy who can come in and help out when needed.
213th pick: Eli Heidenreich, RB, Navy
It says running back next to his name, but Heidenreich was more of a super back at Navy. He can play running back, fullback, tight end, and slot receiver. The Lions love them some positional versatility.
222nd pick: Keyshawn James-Newby, Edge, New Mexico
Should we get one more? Better get one more. James-Newby had a strong 74 pressures and 10 sacks in 2025. He’s got third-down pass-rush specialist written all over him.
