With the No. 75 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft, the Miami Dolphins have selected Texas Tech Red Raiders wide receiver Caleb Douglas. The fourth pick for the Miami Dolphins in this class is the team’s second Texas Tech selection in a row, with Douglas joining LB Jacob Rodriguez in the migration to South Florida.

Career Projection:

“Most projections for Douglas were situated on Day 3 of the 2026 NFL Draft. He’s been a productive player with consistency, posting over 800 yards in each of his two seasons at Texas Tech. Douglas started his college career with the Florida Gators program, playing two years in Florida before transferring to Tech.

Douglas has straight line speed and effective length to elevate and attack the football. He’s best as a field-stretching player with a sub-4.40s 40-yard time. Douglas has a comparable athletic profile to former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling.

The parallels to the role that this team likely sees for Douglas tie back to that comparison to Valdes-Scantling. The latter was drafted in the 5th round back in 2018 as a tall, long, speedster who doesn’t necessarily provide volume targets — but instead can help to space the field and play physical without the football.

The team appeared to collect a favorable draw with this pick at No. 75, including with several wide receivers that have drawn praise as potential risers in the pre-draft process. Those names include Chris Bell (Louisville), Ted Hurst (Georgia State), Skyler Bell (Connecticut), and others.

Miami seems to have hit it off with Douglas, never mind the perceived talent of the other receivers that were on the board. Time will tell if they’re right; although the pre-draft projections suggest this is a pick Miami may have been able to wait on.
