Grading the pick: The Raiders just showed exactly what they think about one of the moves they made in the 2025 NFL Draft
The Las Vegas Raiders grabbed one of the better offensive guards in the 2026 NFL Draft, but they also drafted a guard last season.
The Las Vegas Raiders drafted Texas A&M offensive lineman Trey Zuhn with their final pick on Day 2. They started the day with defense with Treydan Stukes. Then they drafted edge Keyron Crawford, and they finished it with an offensive player.
Zuhn played just about every single position on the offensive line last year alone. But for the Raiders, he will play guard. His shorter arms and tall frame will make it hard for him to become an NFL starting tackle. As a guard, though, he can definitely start. He’s 6’6, 312 pounds, but extremely athletic. There is an issue with this pick, though.
Raiders drafted an offensive guard on Day 2 three years in a row
The Raiders just drafted Jackson Powers-Johnson two years ago. He’s proved that he can be elite, and even when he’s not at his best, he’s still very good. They then spent a third-round pick on Caleb Rogers last season. He played 280 total snaps last season. In this offseason, they re-signed Jordan Meredith, who had a bad 2025 at center. However, in 2024, at guard, he was pretty good. Then they signed Spencer Burford in free agency, who has started 38 career games. So, they have now drafted an offensive guard on Day 2, three years in a row. Don’t get me wrong, Zuhn can be elite, but I’m not sure what the plan is.
PLAYER scouting report / different H2 using blurb

- 2022: Started 11 games at LT.
- 2023: Started 13 games at LT.
- 2024: Third-team All-SEC. Started all 13 games at LT.
- 2025: Shared the Jacobs Blocking Trophy (top SEC OL) with Alabama’s Kadyn Proctor. First-team All-SEC. Started all 13 games (11 at LT, 2 at C).
One of my favorite players in this draft class, Zuhn is another collegiate tackle who will likely be moving inside in the NFL. Zuhn is a strong blend of athleticism, technique, and intangibles, with the ability to be a capable starter right away at the next level. His lack of length and power make me believe he would be at his best playing center. Zuhn has good quickness out of his stance and has the athleticism to hit all of his aiming points out in space. He doesn’t boast a lot of mass or length, but he makes up for it with tremendous hand placement and fundamentals. His 50 career games show up with his ability to sift through blitzes and stunts with a routine ease. Additionally, the A&M staff and teammates have raved about his character and toughness. A two-time team captain and leader of a College Football Playoff team, Zuhn checks off box after box. His blend of athleticism, intelligence, and intangibles makes me believe he is capable of being a solid starter at center in the NFL.

Final grade
Zuhn has some of the best first-step quickness off the snap that you will see on the interior in this class. He does have a great anchor for pass pro when he’s on the inside, when he’s on the outside, not so much. He handles speed and spins well on the interior and is very good at hand resetting.
He does have short arms. And he does lack some recovery agility, though. Some of his pass pro snaps when covering the A gap aren’t the best, but they’re good enough. Honestly, Zuhn could be the Day 1 starter, and win the battle right away, he’s that good. For me, this is more of a love-the-player, the-pick kind of thing.
