Cleveland Browns may soon be saying goodbye to their own former draft pick following what they’ve done in the 2026 NFL Draft

The Cleveland Browns have made a clear statement with how they’ve gone about addressing its needs in the 2026 NFL Draft. Former Tennessee Vol Cedric Tillman is in a tough spot after the Browns’ new additions.

There’s no doubt the Cleveland Browns had a clear plan going into the 2026 NFL Draft around upgrading their wide receiver group in a big way. I did not have it in the possibilities that the Browns would be able to come out of the draft with both KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston at the position

Cleveland only has Jerry Jeudy proven at the position and even he had a down 2025 season that’s left questions. One thing is for sure with the Browns, their moves are likely going to push some of their own out the door.

Writing is on the wall for Cedric Tillman’s time with the Browns to come to an end

Tillman was a third-round pick by the Browns in the 2026 NFL Draft who has shown flashes, but health and inconsistent play have hindered his ability to become anything resembling a part of the future. Coming into the draft, Tillman was a starter on paper for the Browns as their big wideout who could win downfield. Now, it looks like his time with the Browns could be coming to an end in the not-so-distant future.

The Browns have Boston to be their 6-foot-4 wideout who can win downfield now and Concepcion will slot in along with Jeudy ideally. Cleveland also has Isaiah Bond as a former undrafted free agent from Texas who should be a part of their rotation in 2026 after recording 338 receiving yards last season.

Tillman’s best season with the Browns so far was 2023 when he caught 29 passes for 339 receiving yards in 11 games played. The former Tennessee Vol has missed 13 games with Cleveland through three seasons of his NFL career. Tillman has looked the part at 6-foot-3, 215 pounds with the ability to make tough catches, but injury issues albeit different from college have followed him to the league.

Tylan Wallace, Gage Larvadain, Malachi Corley, and Jamari Thrash will be other players competing for spots on the Browns’ wide receiver depth chart.

One thing is for sure, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Browns cut or trade Tillman, even if they wait until training camp to do so. The Browns have made a big investment at wide receiver in the draft and some names are going to be pushed out.
