Titans’ Way-Too-Early 53-Man Roster Projection: Promising rookie draft class forces tough decisions for Mike Borgonzi, Robert Saleh while thin rooms still need veteran help

Here’s a super early look at where the Titans’ depth chart is heading into spring practice. The most crowded and most needy rooms are surprising to see on paper.

Ohio State Buckeyes wide receiver Carnell Tate (17) catches a pass against the Ohio Bobcats in the second half at the Ohio Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2025 in Columbus, Ohio.

The 2026 NFL Draft is officially in the books, and the Titans roster has taken close to it’s final shape for the spring. Some undrafted free agents will be signed in the coming days as all the leftover prospects who didn’t hear their names called find their new home for the summer, and the Titans will actually have to cut a couple of veterans in order to make room for the UDFA class on their 90-man roster.

From there, we all take a deep breath before diving right back in with rookie minicamp, OTA’s, and mandatory minicamp to wrap up the spring calendar. For all intents and purposes, the meat of this roster is now set until training camp rolls around in a few months.

Here is a peek at what the Titans 53-man roster would look like today. What does this exercise tell us at this stage in the game, before a million small tweaks are made between now and the end of August? Two things: one, it’s a good way to look at the uphill climb each newly-added rookie has in their position group. And two, it’s a nice snapshot of where this roster is still thinnest and needs veteran work before opening day. So lets’s take a look!

Note: Players with a single asterisk (*) are 2026 draft picks and players with double asterisks (**) are 2026 undrafted free agents.

Titans’ way-too-early post-draft 53-man roster projection with UDFAs

Quarterback (2)

IN: Cam Ward, Mitchell Trubisky
OUT: Will Levis, Hendon Hooker

The skinny: I changed my tune on the Will Levis situation in this mailbag post right before the draft: I was lead to believe that the stance from both the Levis and Titans camps had softened. Previously, the writing was on the wall that everybody wanted to find a divorce off-ramp to trade Levis to a new situation. Now, with Brian Daboll in the building and Levis’ trade value in the tank due to an off-year to recover from shoulder surgery, the Titans are looking forward to getting him to work with this new coaching staff.

Perhaps this ends with him balling out in the preseason and getting moved before opening weekend. But I was also told that he might just be on this team in the fall! What does that mean for free agent Mitch Trubisky? I’m not sure. All I know is that I don’t see this team keeping three QBs on the active roster, and I don’t see them punting on Trubisky after paying him a decent contract. So this has to come to a head eventually.

Running back (4)

IN: Tony Pollard, Tyjae Spears, Nicholas Singleton*, Michael Carter
OUT: Kalel Mullings, Julius Chestnut, Blake Watson

The skinny: Does rookie Nick Singleton push Tyjae Spears for the chang-of-pace roll this fall? I think that he does, if he comes back cleanly and quickly from the foot surgery he had in February. Michael Carter feels like the honorary special teams contributor at the back of the line. 2025 late Day 3 rookie Kalel seems to have an uphill battle to make the cut in his second season.

Wide receiver (6)

IN: Carnell Tate*, Wan’Dale Robinson, Calvin Ridley, Elic Ayomanor, Chimere Dike, Bryce Oliver
OUT: Hal Presley, Lance McCutcheon, Mason Kinsey, Xavier Restrepo, KJ Osborn

The skinny: Carnell Tate joins what is suddenly a a pretty attractive receiver room for Cam Ward. There’s a clear dividing line in my eyes between the top 6 and the rest off the pack. This feels like the end of the road for the Mason Kinsey and Xavier Restrepo side shows.

Tight end (4)

IN: Gunnar Helm, Daniel Bellinger, David Martin-Robinson, Jaren Kanak*
OUT: Kylen Granson, Joel Wilson

The skinny: Does late Day 3 rookie Jaren Kanak make the cut this summer? He as an uphill climb, but I’ll say that he makes himself useful enough on special teams to get Bones Fassell to keep him.

Offensive line (9)

IN: Dan Moore Jr, Peter Skoronski, Austin Schlottman, Cordell Volson, JC Latham, Jackson Slater, Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson, Fernando Carmona*, Pat Coogan*
OUT: Austin Deculus, Garrett Dellinger, Drew Moss, Trey Hill, Clay Webb, Ryan Hayes

The skinny: The Titans have a bit of a logjam at depth interior offensive line. Really, it’s a result of us still not knowing who has the inside track to start at center or right guard. I feel very good about Austin Schlottman, Jackson Slater, and rookie Pat Coogan (who I think they want to eventually win the job) making the cut in the center/guard competition. But Carmona is a guard who was drafted above Coogan, and Cordell Volson is a veteran who hasn’t played in a year but was an NFL starter previously.

At swing tackle, Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson is the only guy I feel very good about right now.

Defensive line (5)

IN: Jeffery Simmons, John Franklin-Myers, Solomon Thomas, Jordan Elliott, Jackie Marshall*
OUT: Cam Horsley, Isaiah Raikes, CJ Ravenell, Earnest Brown IV, Timmy Horne

The skinny: Will late-round draft pick Jackie Marshall make the cut, or will he be a practice squad guy initially? I could see it going either way for him. He’ll need to make some big summer strides in Saleh’s system since this room is pretty crowded.

Linebacker (5)

IN: Cedric Gray, Cody Barton, Anthony Hill Jr.*, Mohamoud Diabate, Dorian Mausi
OUT: Cam Riley, James Williams

The skinny: James Williams was one of the harder cut decisions I made on this list. He’s talented enough to make this team, and part of me thinks he could be unlocked in Saleh’s system if his new head coach takes him on as a project. But the back end of this group needs to be big special teams contributors, and the Titans loved Mausi in that role last year.

EDGE/Outside Linebacker (6)

IN: Jermaine Johnson II, Femi Oladejo, Keldric Faulk*, Jacob Martin, Jaylen Harrell, Ali Gaye
OUT: Truman Jones, Malik Herring, Nate Lynn, David Ebuka Agoha

The skinny:
This was an easy one to narrow down. The top five are all pretty obvious rotational pieces for Saleh to flow in and out of the lineup, and Ali Gaye is a special teamer Bones Fassell is familiar with.

Cornerback (5)

IN: Alontae Taylor, Cor’Dale Flott, Marcus Harris, Joshua Williams, Micah Robinson
OUT: Keydrain Calligan, Erick Hallett II

The skinny: This is the easiest room to look at on this depth chart and know immediately, oh, they can’t be done here! The first four names are set, and I feel decent about them at the top of the depth chart. But Robinson is essentially a stand-in here for some depth that needs to emerge (or get signed).

Safety (4)

IN: Amani Hooker, Kevin Winston Jr, Tony Adams, Kendell Brooks
OUT: Sanoussi Kane, Jerrick Reed II

The skinny: The Titans’ safety room is in an interesting spot right now as well. Outside of Hooker and Winston Jr, things are shaky. don’t be surprised by a veteran add here as well.

Specialists ()

IN: P Tommy Townsend, K Joey Slye, LS Morgan Cox
OUT: n/a

The skinny: Snap the ball, kick the ball, don’t screw things up. Keep chugging fellas.
