The Alabama Crimson Tide has been pretty quiet since the end of spring ball, but before you know it, the Tide will be back for summer workouts, the SEC meetings, and ultimately, fall camp.

In the meantime, it’s about resting and recovering ahead of the 2026 season, and that couldn’t be more important for one of Alabama’s most anticipated freshman.

Kalen DeBoer gives update on Ezavier Crowell heading into the Summer

“I think by the time we get to June, he will be in a good spot,” DeBoer said at Greystone Golf & Country Club via On3. “That’s everything I’m hearing and feeling. And that’s going to be really critical for him to get the summer in, not just from a workout standpoint, but they run the player-run practices. Just any reps for him are going to be good, quality ways for him to continue to improve in his development, especially early in his career.”

Crowell was never able to get going in spring camp after suffering an injury, so it was largely the Daniel Hill show, alongside some great showings from Kevin Riley. The truth is, however, Crowell can still push for RB No.1 by the time September gets here.

The 5-star out of Jackson, Alabama, reclassified to join the Tide early, so while it may seem rich to say that he makes an impact right away in year 1, Crowell has the frame and skillset to make an impact immediately.

A stout 5-11 and 200-poundback, Crowell is an every-down player who can work the pass game, pass protect, and then when he gets the ball in his hands…Watch out because he can head his head on the goalpost from anywhere on the field.

Jackson High School is a lot different than an SEC Saturday, but if Crowell is healthy, I wouldn’t rule out a big year one.
