Tennessee Vols legend Tee Martin will return to Neyland Stadium in 2026, but he won’t be wearing orange and white.

Martin, the starting quarterback on the Vols’ 1998 National Championship team, was hired by Lane Kiffin earlier this offseason to serve as an offensive analyst for the LSU Tigers.

The former Vol is joining Kiffin’s staff after spending the last five seasons as an assistant coach with the Baltimore Ravens.

Martin previously served as an assistant coach at Tennessee from 2019 to 2020 under then-head coach Jeremy Pruitt.

Tee Martin opens up on returning to Neyland Stadium

Martin recently joined Southeast Sports+ on WKRG and discussed his return to Neyland Stadium in 2026 (LSU and Tennessee are scheduled to play on November 17 in Knoxville).

The Tennessee legend pointed out that he has four grandchildren who live in Knoxville, so that will be one of his top priorities when LSU visits Knoxville in November.

“He’s (Kiffin) already started — I’m trying to work out and he’s blasting Rocky Top in the weight room,” said Martin. “It’s good. It’s all fun. You’ve got to have the narrative, you’ve got to have the excitement. That game was going to be big before I even got here. So, it just added a little bit to it.

“But it’s always great to go back to Neyland. It’s always great to play that type of competition. They’re doing really well as well. So I don’t even know how I’m going to feel. You know, my kids live there. I have four grandkids that live in Knoxville, so I’m going to be about that. And we’ll play the game and let the chips fall where they may.”

This actually won’t be the first time that Martin returns to Neyland as an opponent.

Martin was on the visitors’ sideline in 2010 while serving as the wide receivers coach at Kentucky Wildcats football.

The Vols won that game 24-14.
