Notre Dame football has landed multiple talented pass catchers for their 2027 recruiting class recently, including Littleton (Co.) Valor Christian wide receiver Jackson Coleman and Choctaw (Okla.) High School tight end Titus Hawk. While the star rankings won’t excite every member of the Fighting Irish fanbase, there should certainly be a lot of intrigue for the future.

With Coleman and Hawk now in the class, head coach Marcus Freeman and the Irish staff have 2-3 spots left to fill between the two positions. There are several top targets that remain on the board for Notre Dame. While the plan isn’t to take a big class of pass catchers, they still have a chance to land a strong overall group.

Here is the entire board for the Irish, where things stand, and some things to keep a close eye on.

THE COMMITS

Here are the current commits for the 2027 Notre Dame class.

WR Jackson Coleman – Littleton (Co.) Valor Christian

Blessed with a long frame and a ton of speed, there is a lot to like about Coleman’s developmental upside. He is, however, a very raw wide receiver right now. There might be some Alec Pierce to his game, but there is a lot of room to grow.

TE Titus Hawk – Choctaw (Okla.) High School

At 6-7 and 215 pounds, Hawk will need a lot of time to develop physically. If Hawk is able to hold enough weight, he has a ton of upside to tap into. This is a long-term investment, but Hawk could end up being a massive steal.

TOP REMAINING TARGETS

Here are the top remaining targets to know for Notre Dame.

WR Julius Jones Jr. – Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas

Jones is the most important wide receiver target on the board, and it isn’t particularly close. While he is a smaller wideout at 5-10 and 175 pounds, Jones is very fast and has a ton of ability after the catch. Notre Dame needs more wide receivers who can fit this style.

WR Cade Cooper – Malvern (Pa.) Prep

There is a chance that Notre Dame could choose to stop at two wide receiver commits, but I think it would be wise to go to three. Cooper is an intriguing blend of size and explosiveness at 6-3 and 192 pounds. The Irish staff likes him a lot, so I would find it hard to believe that they would pass on him.

TE Malik Howard – Oak Ridge (Tenn.) HS

Notre Dame is in a good spot with Howard, fighting against an impressive group of suitors that includes Alabama, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Miami, and Vanderbilt. This won’t be an easy battle to win, but the Irish have a chance. Howard is an impressive passing game weapon from his tight end position.

THE WILDCARDS

Here are some other wildcard pass catchers to know for Notre Dame.

WR Quentin Burrell – Chicago (Ill.) Mount Carmel

Notre Dame is still pushing hard for Burrell, but I have become less and less confident about their chances this offseason. They will fight until the end, so anything can happen. If they are able to land the 6-3, 175-pound pass catcher, it would be a tremendous addition.

WR Trenton Yancey – Duncanville (Texas) High School

Yancey visited Notre Dame several weeks ago, and there were good vibes coming out of that trip. He is a thickly built wide receiver who does some impressive work after the catch. I’m not sure if this fit will make sense, but Yancey is certainly an interesting option out there.

ATH Brennen Lacey – Frisco (Texas) High School

After originally recruiting Lacey as a running back, things changed once they landed commitments from Isaiah Rogers and Lathan Whisenton. Lacey recently visited South Bend on an unofficial visit and also has an official visit already set up for the Summer. With the Irish now recruiting Lacey as a wide receiver, he is a very interesting member of the board.

WR Osani Gayles – Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy

Gayles visited South Bend this offseason, so clearly there is some interest there. While that might be true, other programs like Alabama, Tennessee, and USC are the leaders. I don’t expect Notre Dame to make much of a move here.
