Former Ravens Pro Bowler just dumped cold, hard facts on Aaron Rodgers when asked about what he can still bring to the Steelers
The Pittsburgh Steelers are still playing the waiting game with Aaron Rodgers, but according to someone who played him multiple times last season, that’s a bad idea.
The Pittsburgh Steelers are still playing the waiting game with Aaron Rodgers. Despite owner Art Rooney saying that the Steelers would wait like last year, but not quite as long, at every turn and key event, the Steelers have been left standing at the altar.
That is probably why they went ahead and placed a UFA tender on Rodgers, as they try and create some leverage ahead of training camp. But should the Steelers even be involved in the Rodgers sweepstakes? Pro Bowl LB and Super Bowl champion Kyle Van Noy doesn’t think so.
Aaron Rodgers 2025 Stats
- 3,322 passing yards.
- 24 Touchdowns, 7 interceptions.
- 94.8 passing rates.
Kyle Van Noy says Aaron Rodgers should retire
“I think he should just ride off into the sunset,” Van Noy said via the Up and Adams show. I mean, he’s such a successful player, and he has nothing left to prove. I know he loves [the game], he’s a competitor, and probably wants to win a Super Bowl. When you win it, it’s like a drug, right? You want to get back so bad. It’s an unbelievable feeling.”
“So I know that motivates him, but over the years, I don’t know if he has the same kind of love for the game, to be honest. Like he might. I don’t know him like that. You know, he still looks like he has it. But just comparing him to what he was like when he was with the Packers versus since I played him, now there’s a little difference. It’s just that when we used to play him, he had this, like, FU mentality.”
Does Aaron Rodgers still have the same fire?
Look, I think anyone who has done any job for 20 years, and who has reached the pinnacle of said job, and will one day be a Hall of Famer and largely viewed as one of the best at said job, probably doesn’t have the same fire that he or she did before summiting said mountain.
But from the Steelers POV, Rodgers is the most known, and probably, even at 42 going on 43 years old, the best option in that quarterback room. That’s why the Steelers have hitched their wagon to him, and it’s why they want him back in 2026.
We’ll see if they can get him back.
