Aaron Rodgers was recently linked to a team out west this week, and one of the wide receivers on the team is now trying to persuade him to join.

It’s the gift that, for the past two offseasons, has just kept on giving for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Aaron Rodgers and the rumors of where he’s going, what he’s up to, and when he will decide his future had a lot of Steelers fans intrigued around this time last year, but now they mostly feel annoyed.

Well, the last few weeks have thrown some curveballs in terms of Rodgers, or at least in media circles, as the Steelers used a rare UFA Tender on Rodgers and then he was linked to the Arizona Cardinals over the weekend. Now, one of the Cardinals’ WRs is trying to get Rodgers to sign.

  • 3,322 passing yards.
  • 65.7% completion percentage.

Kendrick Bourne recruits Aaron Rodgers

The recruiting pitch comes off the surface of an article earlier in the week from CBS, where the Cardinals were tabbed as a team to watch for Rodgers if he decided not to play in Pittsburgh.

“Looking around the NFL, there aren’t too many teams in need of a starting quarterback at this point, but there’s definitely one intriguing option: The Arizona Cardinals.”

“At this point, their QB situation is still up in the air. Going into April, Jacoby Brissett appeared to have the inside track, but he’s skipping the team’s voluntary workouts because he wants to be paid like a starter. Instead of giving Brissett more money, the Cardinals could simply call Rodgers and offer that money to him.” – John Breech, CBS Sports

Would Aaron Rodgers actually consider the Cardinals?

Ever since that article and tweet from Bourne, multiple sources who would certainly know about the situation have confirmed that Rodgers to Arizona is very unlikely. New head coach Mike LaFleur said that the team is focused on the quarterbacks they have in the building, and then Ian Rapoport of NFL Network on ESPN said that there is no truth to Rodgers or the Cardinals being interested in one another.

That being said, this is Aaron Rodgers that we are talking about. Until he signs on the dotted line or says he’s gone for good, I wouldn’t rule anything out.
