Las Vegas Raiders just lost their best shot at drastically improving one of their more questionable position groups
The Las Vegas Raiders were not able to sign veteran wide receiver Jauan Jennings, but they should just keep the position group the same.
The Las Vegas Raiders are a much-improved team going into 2026, and we haven’t even seen them play a game yet. However, they addressed nearly every roster need, even the slightest of additions.
There are still several question marks with this team. One of the bigger x-factors has to be the wide receiver room. It is filled with many players who haven’t really done much yet in their NFL careers. Many thought that the Raiders would address the position group one less time by signing a veteran. Due to previous connections, former San Francisco 49ers WR Jauan Jennings felt like a perfect match. Now, that won’t be happening.
According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Minnesota Vikings are signing Jennings. He is one of the best wide receivers who was left in the free agency market. This may be completely fine, as General Manager John Spytek has said countless times that he has faith in the WR room as it is currently constructed.
“I like our WR room, I love Tre Tucker, we’re excited about Jalen Nailor, we drafted Jack Bech in the second, we have belief in Jack, we drafted Dont’e Thornton in the 4th last year, we believe in him, I’m excited with Malik Benson,” Spytek said on the Kay Adams show.
If the Raiders did want to add to their room, there aren’t really many wide receivers left that make a ton of sense.
Available free agent WRs the Raiders could target
Guys like Tyreek Hill, Stefon Diggs, Deebo Samuel, Curtis Samuel, DeAndre Hopkins, and Keenan Allen are all veteran wide receivers the Raiders could target. But most of these don’t make much sense. Some of them have strong injury concerns, and others have concerns off the field.
Do you really want some of these veteran wide receivers to come in and take away snaps from the young guys who desperately need them? Signing one of these guys is a move you often make when you’re trying to contend in the playoffs. The Raiders just aren’t there yet. They are in the stage of developing young players. Spytek should just keep the room how it is and enter the season this way.
