New free agent can continue the Titans’ offseason trend and be an insurance policy worth looking into

The Titans aren’t done in free agency, and a surprising cut candidate this week is exactly the kind of player they should be after. He even has experience with one of Robert Saleh’s coordinators.

Indianapolis Colts cornerback Kenny Moore II (23) walks the field Monday, Dec. 22, 2025, during a game against the San Francisco 49ers at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis.

The Tennessee Titans already spent so, so much money in free agency this spring. But they cannot be done. And they aren’t.

Now that the Draft is behind us, free agency moves will trickle out slowly between now and roster cutdown day in August. The majority of them will qualify as slightly more notable than simple back-end roster churn. But there are always a few productive veterans that find late landings spots in the summer months.

One such veteran just got outright released by his team, and he fits a role the Titans really need to address before opening day.

Former Colts DB Kenny Moore is somebody Titans could use

After a nine year career in Indianapolis, DB Kenny Moore asked for his release from the Colts. GM Chris Ballard granted it.

Moore is being listed as a safety in many of the reports that have come out this week, which is curious because he’s been a slot corner for some time now. Perhaps that’s a position his next team will transition him to… or maybe it’s what he and his agent want him to be billed as for some reason. But as of right now, he’s been playing slot corner for the Colts.

And he plays it well! His age is undoubtedly a big part of the reason why the Colts granted him a release instead of finding a trade partner. He’s 32 years old this year. But he was also released because of his preferences on which systems he’d best fit in right now, which is something that would limit potential suitor interest too.

The Colts are gearing up to shift towards a more man-heavy defensive approach, which doesn’t maximize Moore’s play at this stage of his career.

But it would compliment what Robert Saleh and Gus Bradley have traditionally done.

Saleh’s defense is well known for a zone-heavy approach with a lot of Cover 3 and quarters looks. Bradley is even more of a Cover 3 specialist, so much so that he’s received criticism in the past for being so “stuck in his ways” when things went poorly. But Bradley not only has a background in the style of defense that would compliment Moore; he’s also literally used him in his defense recently.

Bradley was the DC of the Colts from 2022-2024, working with Moore as one of his best defensive pieces. The Titans have a depth problem still looming at both cornerback and safety right now. 2nd year CB Marcus Harris is somebody who the coaching staff seems excited about allowing to develop as their starting nickel this fall, but he has a lot to prove before we get there. And at safety, Amani Hooker and Kevin Winston Jr. are the only two players in that room who inspire any confidence right now. Having depth at either (or both) of those positions would be nice.

If Bradley likes the idea of reuniting with Moore, Mike Borgonzi should make the call. He’d be perfect in the late-veteran-addition role that Quandre Diggs played for this team the past two years.
