The buzz behind the scenes for the Miami Dolphins is apparently keeping the same energy that we’ve heard publicly

It sounds like the behind the scenes buzz for the Miami Dolphins is keeping the same energy as the public conversation.

The Miami Dolphins‘ roster upheaval has left plenty anxiously waiting for another shoe to drop. Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, Bradley Chubb, Tua Tagovailoa, and more are long gone. The Waddle trade in particular has left plenty of speculation that the Dolphins could have more shakeup on the way.

But a new piece from ESPN’s Dan Graziano seems to offer more fuel for what we’ve heard publicly. And that would be good news for any Miami Dolphins fan hoping to see the rest of the standouts on the roster stay in South Florida.

Behind-the-scenes buzz affirms Miami views Brooks, Brewer, and Achane as ‘foundational players’

“Talking to Dolphins staffers throughout this offseason, what I’ve been told is that the team views Achane, center Aaron Brewer and linebacker Jordyn Brooks, as foundational players and candidates for extensions rather than trades…The smart bet is on the Dolphins extending Achane’s contract at some point this offseason.”

The De’Von Achane buzz has cooled. But it likely won’t go away for good until after the star running back has signed an extension. And the trade deadline has passed, but hey…who’s counting? Jordyn Brooks’ status received some new skepticism due to the Dolphins drafting two linebackers in the first four rounds of the 2026 NFL Draft. One selection, LB Jacob Rodriguez, came in the top-50.

And then there’s Aaron Brewer, a 2025 All-Pro who is also entering into the last year of his current contract, just like Achane and Brooks. Brewer’s fit was speculated on after the Miami Dolphins drafted a mammoth offensive lineman in the first round. Kadyn Proctor, the team’s top draft choice, has had some wondering whether or not Brewer fits the future style of play in Miami. Graziano’s feedback from behind the seems would seem to indicate ‘yes’.

Dolphins general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan has said as much publicly. But any time you know the movement behind the scenes is on the same wavelength, that’s good news. And it sounds like that’s exactly where Miami is midway through May.
