Latest NFL schedule leaks reveal the Carolina Panthers will be playing under the bright lights multiple times in 2026
The Carolina Panthers turned the corner in 2025 winning the NFC South and had a strong offseason heading into 2026. The NFL is starting to take notice and plans to put more eyes on this team in 2026.
The Carolina Panthers shocked a lot of people last season after winning the NFC South and sneaking through the backdoor into the NFC playoffs. While it was an improbable finish, the Panthers still proved on multiple occasions they could hang with the big dogs.
At the same time, Carolina still finished the season as an 8-win team and still will be looking to earn more respect after playing just one primetime game in 2025.
“We gotta earn our arrival,” Panthers general manager Dan Morgan said. “We only won eight games last year, we want to win more than that. We’re hungry for more than that.”
The Panthers will have an opportunity to “earn their arrival” this upcoming season under the bright lights based on the latest 2026 schedule leaks.
Carolina Panthers set to play multiple primetime games based on 2026 schedule leaks
Panthers vs. Detroit Lions, Week 4, Sunday Night Football
The Panthers and Lions are rumored to face off in Week 4, a game that will be played on “Sunday Night Football” at Bank of America Stadium. It would be Carolina’s first Sunday night game since 2016 and first home SNF game since the 2015 Super Bowl season.
This will be a massive game in front of the home crowd against a top-caliber team in the NFC. The last time the Panthers and Lions faced off was in 2023 when Detroit defeated Carolina 42-24. However, the Panthers have won six consecutive home games against the Lions with only one home loss in the head-to-head matchup.
It’s going to be a major early season test for the Panthers to see if this team belongs under the bright lights. However, we all know the home crowd will be ready.
Panthers at Buccaneers, Week 12, Monday Night Football
The other leaked primetime matchup for the Panthers will be a Week 12 date against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on “Monday Night Football” on Nov. 30. After all of the drama between these two teams last season in the NFC South race, this will be a fitting primetime matchup on ESPN.
The league is correcting a mistake from 2025 with this one, if it’s confirmed. In Week 18 last season, the NFL scheduled the Panthers-Bucs matchup for the NFC South title on Saturday afternoon instead of giving the game the primetime matchup it deserved.
Carolina now gets the opportunity to face their division rival on the road with a national audience. The implications won’t be as high but three of the last four games between these two teams were decided by three or fewer points. So, it’ll definitely be exciting.
