Notre Dame is in the middle of putting together another fantastic recruiting class under head coach Marcus Freeman. The Fighting Irish’s 2027 class could once again fight for elite status, and it’s possible it could be even better than the 2026 group when all is said and done. It’s all about closing down the stretch.

While there are a lot of positive vibes surrounding the Notre Dame 2027 recruiting class, the linebacker position still has a ton of major questions to answer. The Irish staff holds a commitment from Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy star Amarii Irvin, and that is a good start. New linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary would like to add at least one more linebacker to the class, but the board just got a bit smaller this past weekend.

Star 2027 Haymarket (Va.) Battlefield linebacker Noah Glover committed to the Miami Hurricanes over the weekend, beating out the Fighting Irish, Georgia, and Texas A&M. Notre Dame was not considered to be a favorite for Glover, but he is still a player that the Irish liked quite a bit. The linebacker board is getting considerably smaller and quickly.

It also appears that 2027 Mililani (Hawaii) High School star Toa Satele is trending toward the Oregon Ducks after his official visit to Eugene this past weekend. That could leave five-star Kaden Henderson and Chicago native Roman Igwebuike as the top two remaining targets to keep a close eye on soon. Jean-Mary and the Fighting Irish are going to have to have a strong few weeks to try to solidify a strong linebacker class.

Noah Glover’s recruiting background

Glover is considered to be a consensus four-star player by each of the major recruiting platforms. On the 247Sports Composite ranking, Glover currently sits as the No. 206 overall player, the No. 18 linebacker, and the No. 3 player from the state of Virginia for the 2027 recruiting class. Each platform ranks him inside the top 300 players nationally.

There is a long list of top programs that have been pursuing Glover. Some of his top offers include the Fighting Irish, the Hurricanes, Georgia, Ohio State, Alabama, Texas, Michigan, Oregon, Texas A&M, Tennessee, Penn State, Clemson, Auburn, Indiana, Florida State, South Carolina, Kentucky, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, Virginia, UNC, West Virginia, Maryland, Duke, Rutgers, Wake Forest, and Syracuse, among others.

As a junior in 2025, Glover put together a tremendous season for Battlefield. The 6-1, 205-pound linebacker managed to collect 73 total tackles, five sacks, two pass breakups, a forced fumble, and two blocked punts. Glover also recorded two rushing touchdowns on the offensive side of the football.
