Cleveland Browns may not be done making significant trades after sending Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams

Cleveland Browns are finalizing a deal to send Myles Garrett to the NFC. However, it may not be the only trade the Browns and GM Andrew Berry have in their plans.

The Cleveland Browns are the story of the NFL to begin June as they head to send superstar EDGE Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams

It’s a sign the Browns are going all in on their rebuild and trying to speed it up as quickly as they can. Cleveland got back EDGE Jared Verse in the trade along with a first-round pick and other expected draft capital.

Now, the door could be open for the Browns to make more moves. Cleveland is already one of the youngest teams in the NFL and they could soon be even younger.

Andrew Berry may not be done swinging trades for the Cleveland Browns

With Garrett heading out of Cleveland, the Browns’ longest tenured defender is now CB Denzel Ward. Ward is entering year No. 9 with the Browns, and the team made an interesting move this offseason that at least keeps the door open to him being moved. The Browns converted just $2.5 million of his roster bonus into a signing bonus, which was just a partial restructure. Cleveland passed on doing a full restructure, which would have made the dead money in the future even heavier.

Ward could be traded anytime now and the Browns would take on $13 million in dead cap this season. If the team does want to move off of the former No. 4 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, this would be the offseason for it to happen. Ward just turned 29 years old and was again a Pro Bowler in 2025 with 15 games played. Ward totaled one interception in 2025 to go along with nine passes defended.

It’s been known for Ward to miss a couple games a season with concussion issues and soft tissue injuries. When he’s on the field, he’s one of the best man cornerbacks the NFL has to offer. Ward has intercepted 18 passes over the last eight seasons with the Browns.

Why would the Browns trade Denzel Ward?

Trading Ward now would be the Browns getting something for him before his value starts to decline drastically after he turns 30 years old. With a high number of concussions in his career, the five-time Pro Bowler could be in a spot where he has to hang it up if he suffers another.

The other part of it is that the Browns aren’t competing in 2026 and are looking ahead to the future. Ward won’t be a part of the long-term future, and netting a Day 1 or early Day 2 pick for him would be a nice return.

After trading Garrett, anything seems to be on the table for the Browns. A trade of Ward wouldn’t be a surprise, we are talking about a team that is openly admitting they won’t be competing for much this season.
