There’s a warrant out for Brandon Aiyuk’s arrest and it should remove all interest the Commanders have in acquiring him

Well, the Commanders should just look the other way when it comes to acquiring Brandon Aiyuk. Whether it be through a trade or a post-release signing.

Brandon Aiyuk and the Washington Commanders are the NFL’s new version of A.J. Brown and the New England Patriots.

Meaning, it’s just a matter of time before the two parties join forces. However, that needs to change on the Commanders’ side of the coin after the latest news surrounding the San Francisco 49ers’ disgruntled wideout.

Per The California Post, a warrant has been issued for Aiyuk’s arrest. It stems from a YouTube video Aiyuk posted of himself back in December. He’s in the driver’s seat of a Cadillac Ct5 V Black-wing and reaches speeds as high as 102 miles per hour while passing Levi’s Stadium. The official charge is a misdemeanor charge of exhibition of speeding.

The DA’s office confirmed to ESPN on Wednesday that the speed limit is 40 miles per hour on the aforementioned road. You can see both Aiyuk driving on the road and his odometer registering 102 miles per hour at the 2:26 mark below:

Brandon Aiyuk clearly isn’t a good decision-maker nor fit for the Commanders’ locker room

Aiyuk’s fallout with the 49ers is well-documented, so there’s already a history of dissonance with the former first-round pick.

Now, he’s out on the streets going over 100 miles per hour in public spaces. On top of that, Aiyuk posted a video of himself on Instagram the next day at a racetrack despite the warrant surfacing:

It’s just bad decision after bad decision that reflects a lot of poor judgement. If I’m the Commanders, this takes Aiyuk off the table.

Because not only is the off-field stuff happening – how do we know if this guy is even close to the same player we saw in 2023?

Aiyuk did apologize for the video, but the point still stands. It remains to be seen if any criminal charges will be filed.
