Former Tennessee Vol has requested to be traded after spending his first three years in the NFL with the same team
A former Tennessee Volunteers offensive lineman has reportedly requested to be traded — and the team has agreed — after spending his first three seasons in the NFL with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Former Tennessee Volunteers offensive lineman Wanya Morris has reportedly requested a trade from the Kansas City Chiefs.
Morris has spent the first three seasons of his career with the Chiefs (with 16 total starts), but he’s looking for a fresh start.
And according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Chiefs have agreed to trade him (if they can find a suitable trade partner).
Morris is looking for a situation where he can earn more playing time.
“The Chiefs and OT Wanya Morris have agreed to explore trade options, sources told Jeremy Fowler,” reported ESPN this week. “Morris, who has 16 starts over three seasons (11 in 2024), would like the chance to play more and Kansas City has tackle depth, sources said.”
Wanya Morris didn’t finish his college career with the Tennessee Vols
Morris, a former five-star recruit, spent the first two seasons (2019-2020) of his career at Tennessee.
The Georgia native transferred to Oklahoma after Jeremy Pruitt was fired by the Vols in early 2021 amid a massive recruiting scandal.
Morris, though, continued to show love for the Volunteers after transferring to Oklahoma.
At the Senior Bowl in early 2023, Morris rocked a Power T sticker on his Oklahoma helmet.
Morris also mentioned Tennessee during player intros during a Sunday Night Football game in 2024.
Morris won a Super Bowl with the Chiefs as a rookie.
