Ohio State football transfer arrested on serious charges over the weekend, suspended from his new team in the SEC
Over the weekend, a major story broke on a recent Ohio State football transfer being arrested in South Carolina on multiple charges.
A former Ohio State football player who transferred to the SEC back in the winter was arrested on serious charges over the weekend down south.
Former Buckeye RB Sam Williams-Dixon was booked into a Richland Co. jail around midnight on Saturday on a total of seven criminal charges, according to The Post and Courier.

Williams-Dixon is facing three counts of breaking into motor vehicles where fuel is stored, three counts of criminal conspiracy, and one count of grand larceny, according to the report. The former Ohio State running back was arrested alongside his brother, Elijah, who is facing the same charges.
There was a $150,000 bond granted and Williams-Dixon is set for his initial court hearing on Aug. 28. The ex-Buckeye was immediately suspended from South Carolina football.
“We are aware of the situation and per athletic department policy, he is suspended indefinitely,” a South Carolina athletic department spokesman stated, via The Greenville News.
The former West Holmes (OH) standout, who finished his high school career at Pickerington North (OH), was a three-star recruit in the class of 2024 and spent two seasons in Columbus. Williams-Dixon played in five games at Ohio State totaling 10 rushes for 62 yards and a touchdown.
Williams-Dixon originally entered the transfer portal after his freshman season, during which he played in four games for the Buckeyes. The reserve running back decided to return to Ohio State, but was unable to crack the rotation in a crowded room.
There was no clear-cut playing time for the former Ohio State running back at South Carolina. And now he’s suspended at his new SEC home and facing serious trouble months before the season begins.
