Josh Elander and the Tennessee Vols baseball program got one step closer to some great news on Tuesday.

Tennessee is in the mix for Air Force transfer infielder Wyatt Hanoian.

Earlier this week, news broke that Hanoian is down to three schools — Florida, Ole Miss, and Tennessee.

On Tuesday, On3’s Pete Nakos reported that Hanoian is now down to two schools — Tennessee and Ole Miss.

It’s nice for the Vols that Florida is out of the picture, but with Ole Miss still hanging around, it’s not time for Tennessee to celebrate just yet.

Vols fans, though, won’t have to wait long to find out the winner of this transfer battle. Hanoian is expected to announce his decision on Thursday.

The transfer infielder slashed .357/.498/.573 as a freshman this past season. Hanoian also hit six home runs while committing only six errors in the field.
