Five things to know about the Miami Dolphins’ newest offensive lineman as team goes back to the UFL well twice in the same week
The Miami Dolphins have signed their second Houston Gambler player this week.
The Miami Dolphins are making good use of the newest talent pipeline to the NFL this week.
With the UFL’s spring season having come to a close, we’re seeing a major exodus of talent to expanded NFL rosters. The Miami Dolphins are a part of the club, as they’ve now signed two separate Houston Gamblers players this week. First came safety Major Burns, and now, offensive tackle Gottlieb Ayedze. Both were members of the 2026 All-UFL roster and served as standout players this spring. We’ve already done a deeper dive on Burns — but what about Ayedze. Here are a few things to know about the Miami Dolphins’ newest offensive lineman.
The Miami Dolphins sign former Houston Gamblers offensive lineman Gottlieb Ayedze
A Frostburg State transfer to Maryland for his final college season
Ayedze played just one season for the Terrapins in 2023. Before that, he served as a three-time selection to first-team All-MEC honors. At Maryland, he was highly graded for his work in pass protection before being selected to participate in the 2024 East/West Shrine Bowl.

At the Shrine Bowl, Ayedze checked in just short of 6-foot-4 and tipped the scales at 316 pounds. He logged over 80 inches on his wingspan, affording him legitimate NFL offensive tackle size. As a point of reference, his wingspan was more than 2.5 inches wider than New England Patriots offensive tackle Will Campbell — who is often the subject of debate over length at tackle.

The size measurements are fine. But the explosiveness testing is where the eye-popping numbers come into play. Ayedze has some serious juice and athleticism, even if his raw pedigree from four years at Frostburg State doesn’t always allow it to manifest itself on the field.
Spent summer of 2024 on Eagles roster, carried on Raiders practice squad for 2024 regular season
The Miami Dolphins will be his third NFL team. Philadelphia Eagles have had a strong track record of developing offensive lineman. Things didn’t work out with Ayedze back in 2024, although some of that could have been chalked up to a numbers game. But then things didn’t work out with the Raiders, either. Ayedze was on the Raiders’ expanded roster last offseason but failed to make the team. He was not on a roster or practice squad this past fall before suiting up in the UFL.
Ayedze worked out for the New England Patriots earlier this week before signing with the Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins weren’t the only AFC East team interested in his services. The Patriots reportedly worked Ayedze out earlier this week before Miami ultimately struck a deal. His stock appears to be reinvigorated after a strong performance in the UFL — and now he’ll look to stick with the Miami Dolphins.
