Recent David Gabriel Georges update is nothing but good news for Ohio State football’s chase of the elite running back
Ohio State’s top recruiting target remains on the board with five-star RB David Gabriel Georges. The latest update on the elite running back is good news for the Buckeyes.
The month of June has been a busy one for the Ohio State Buckeyes between visits, summer camps, and summer workouts. Ohio State has picked up a couple of commitments this month, but its biggest target remains uncommitted with a July 22 decision date set.
Baylor School (TN) five-star running back David Gabriel Georges started the month of June at Ohio State for his first official visit. Then, the talented running back took officials to Tennessee and Ole Miss over the last two weekends. The latest development around DGG is a positive development for all three of those schools.
David Gabriel Georges cancels final official visit, locked in on three schools
The last and final visit for Gabriel Georges was expected to be to Athens with the Georgia Bulldogs. That visit will no longer take place, and the elite recruit has now seen all the schools he’s considering. It’s no surprise the Georgia visit was canceled; they already have No. 1 running back Kemon Spell committed. There had been rumors of this visit being canceled at some point, but now there’s sure word on it and it’s a positive development for the Buckeyes.
Gabriel Georges went for over 1,700 rushing yards as a junior at Baylor School last year and he’s set to have a huge senior season. Ohio State is right at the top along with Tennessee in this race, and they’ve done about all they can to land the Day 1 contributor.
Ohio State running backs coach Carlos Locklyn has a close relationship and if the Buckeyes win out in the end that’ll be a big reason why. One school is already out of the race and Ole Miss isn’t seen as a major contender for the powerful running back.
July 22 has a chance to be a really special day for the Ohio State football program, or it could be quite the disappointment.
