The Tennessee Vols are trending for one of their most unique recruiting wins of the Josh Heupel era.

According to On3’s Steve Wiltfong, the Vols are in a strong position to land 2027 four-star offensive lineman Niko Kampas.

“After talking to sources with knowledge of the recruitment, I’ve logged a prediction in favor of the Vols regarding NFL Academy offensive tackle Niko Kampas,” reported Wiltfong this week. “… It’s Tennessee that has all the momentum at this point in the process.”

The Vols are going international in this recruiting battle

Kampas, 6-foot-7/294 pounds, is a massive offensive tackle who is originally from Germany and attends the NFL Academy in London. He actually grew up playing volleyball before switching to football.

The European offensive lineman took an official visit to Tennessee last weekend. He’s also taken visits to Vanderbilt, Michigan, and Auburn.

Kampas, who was offered by Tennessee last September, is still a bit raw as a prospect, but he has the athleticism and the skillset to make an impact in the SEC. And the Vols clearly feel like they can get to him that level relatively quickly.

Kampas is rated by 247Sports as the No. 27 offensive tackle in the 2027 recruiting class and the No. 1 player in England.
