The Cleveland Browns have multiple players who need to have a good training camp to stick around now and in the future.

The Cleveland Browns will be back on the practice field in Berea on July 28 when they begin training camp.

It’ll be the first training camp for Todd Monken as a head coach and much of the attention will be on the quarterback battle between Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders

Cleveland has a much different roster overall from last year, and several players simply need to have a good training camp to lock in their spot on the 53-man roster in various roles.

WR Cedric Tillman

The Browns made great improvements with their wide receiver room by adding KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston early in the draft. Entering training camp, Boston is no better than the fourth wide receiver for the Browns, and he’s potentially a player they could look to trade if an offer comes about.

Tillman is a former third-round pick who has struggled to stay healthy with 10 missed games over the last two seasons. 2024 was Tillman’s best season with 29 catches for 339 receiving yards. Those kinds of numbers would be great for him this season in what is likely his final year in Cleveland.

A poor training camp could make the Browns’ decision to leave him off the roster easy. Tillman is definitely a former Browns draft pick whose spot is not safe.

OT Dawand Jones

The Browns selected a very capable offensive tackle with Jones in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft. Health has always been an issue for Jones, with 27 games missed over three seasons. Jones has played both tackle spots and could potentially be Cleveland’s swing tackle, but he must earn the spot in training camp.

Jones coming in at a good weight and not weighing north of 375 pounds would be a good start to training camp. Cleveland forms three the 6-foot-8 tackle to be a starter in 2026, but he could be the next guy up if an injury comes about. A good training camp where Jones stays healthy is needed.

CB Myles Harden

Cleveland knows they’re rolling with Denzel Ward and Tyson Campbell as its outside cornerbacks. The question comes on who is going to take the slot role and Harden has a chance to be the guy there. The Browns are going to give multiple guys a chance there and they’re going to build multiple looks for their third defensive back out there.

Harden got five starts last year and came up with 48 tackles and four pass breakups in 16 games total played. If Harden is going to take a jump, it’s going to come in Year 3. The former seventh-round pick needs a strong training camp to win a job in the secondary.
