Raiders wide receiver drops strong comments on whether Fernando Mendoza’s sunny and unique personality is actually genuine
Las Vegas Raiders rookie quarterback Fernando Mendoza has an up-beat personality that almost seems too good to be true.
Las Vegas Raiders rookie quarterback Fernando Mendoza has a personality that almost seems too good to be true.
Mendoza, who unexpectedly led Indiana to a national championship last season, always says the right thing. He praises his teammates and his coaches with consistent enthusiasm. Mendoza is always accountable, shares the praise, and never seems to have a bad day.
From a distance, his energy is infectious. How can anyone be that upbeat and positive all the time? It’s like he has a doctorate in how handle the media, even though was relatively unknown player just two years ago.
There’s more than a few people who have suggested that Mendoza’s sunny disposition isn’t genuine, that it has to be an act.
But that’s not the case according to second year Raiders wide receiver Dont’e Thornton.
Thornton said recently during an appearance on Burn Notice that what you see from Mendonza publicly is the real deal.
“What you see in all the videos and stuff before he got drafted, he’s the same person,” said Thornton. “It’s like he’s never had a bad day in his life.”
“He was a number one overall pick, but he’s not a cocky person or anything like that,” adde Thornton. “He’s very humble and is willing to help everybody.”
Mendoza is legit. What you see is what you get. I’m sure he’ll have some ups and downs as he navigates his rookie season, but I doubt we’ll see him hanging his head or lashing out at a teammate this fall.
