‘He is resilient’ — One of the most important new Miami Dolphins gets a strong endorsement
Miami Dolphins offensive tackle Patrick Paul dishes on what new head coach Jeff Hafley is like.
There’s been plenty of focus about all of the new players on the roster this season for the Miami Dolphins.
But the most challenging job will not be that of any new player — it will be the job facing new head coach Jeff Hafley as he attempts to tie all of these new skill sets together. It’s a daunting task, but will be a challenge that should reveal plenty about the new man in charge with Miami. The early reviews have been promising. Yet another review is in, this one coming from left tackle Patrick Paul courtesy of his recent appearance on ‘The Set’ with former Miami Dolphin Terron Armstead.

“(Hafley), he is resilient, let me tell you. He is a resilient coach. I like everything that he is about. I like how the defense is looking. It’s a little different going from Mike (McDaniel), who was an offensive head coach, to (Hafley). He’s with both of us. So he’s definitely intense. He’s bringing a new energy, I can definitely appreciate that. I can’t wait to see what he does this year.”

That last tidbit about Hafley being with both sides of the ball is an interesting one. It’s been a point of emphasis for Hafley all throughout the offseason. Hafley had mentioned several times that spending time with both sides of the ball in the offseason program was important to him as he sunk his teeth into this team — something he learned in Green Bay from Matt LaFleur. So to have Paul make note of it? It would seem to bring some real value to how this summer’s offseason program went. The best way for Jeff Hafley to successfully tie all those talents together? Knowing his guys. And it seems his efforts to do so haven’t gone unnoticed.
